I was pretty surprised to find DoD in store today and bought the starter and two booster packs. I'm sorry for the bad quality of the photos and hope this wasn't posted before: These are the maps in the starter set: Crossroads and Monster Lair (two half-sized maps) Jungle Temple Dwarven Outpost Flooded Ruins I'm really impressed by the paint quality of this set! Mostly the Hook Horror is awesome with it's metalic colour. The Dwarf Battlemaster is easily one of the best looking dwarves so far while the shield maiden is good looking but reminds me a bit of some sciene fiction fantasy scenario from the front. The wolf's head on her back looks great! Disappointing is the Troglodyte which is just such a major step backwards from the 3.5 ones. :( The orc looks pretty bad as well and doesn't seem to be of the same kind as the orcs in previous sets. My first rares were the Vampire Vizer and HORAY the Young Red Dragon. I didn't have any red dragon before and was particularly happy to pull it from one of my two booster packs. However..... the overhang is just ridiculous. The wings end around 0,5 cm BELOW the base (not exaggerating). Starter Pics Hook Horror Young Red Dragon On the back of the cards are RPG stats. The exception are the cards in the starter which feature tips for using the creature's special abilities. Back of card (Young Green Dragon) The damage counters are just like old one's with two markers for "Ongoing Damage". I wish they had included some to mark bloodied creatures.

thanks a lot. Impressions of the young green dragon? Its to bad about the new look trogs. very disapointed as the old look was 10x better

Thanks for the images. I played on the Jungle Temple at D&D Experience. I had the great fortune of getting in a for-fun game against Dwayne (Tried). I believe he rolled something like a couple dozen rolls over 15 in a really short span of time. We both had a good laugh as he clobbered me mercilessly. The map is a challenge to play on as there are some very weird ways to get bunched up on it. Dave

Too bad about the paint job on the red, green still looks bad but I think I can make it work once I trim the horn off the top of the head. Thanks for sharing!! :)

Thanks for the pics....How would you say the paintjobs on the starter minis compare to the paint master pics in the rulebook? I like that there are more outdoor maps....these have much more utility for me. I guess that decides it for me....totally don't want the Red Dragon now.

Well, stores need to get their goods in time for prerelease this weekend. They're supposed to keep them in storage and not for sell until release day, but that doesn't always happen.

I kinda like the Red Dragon. It looks like it's laughing. Its a young red dragon so perhaps its still got some kid in it. This is Jokey The Dragon!

I'm really curious to see the water rules.....looks like there's a teleporter on each side and the water rules will greatly determine how important they will be.

Thanks Ghendar! The Young Green does look better in that pic, but the Young Red looks terrible. Gotta wait till they are in hand to pass my final opinion.

I am one of those stores, and while the opening of such product happens from time to time, it doesn't explain the starters... I got several cases of boosters and the prize product/repaints, but no starters.

I have noticed sometimes that oversees stores sometimes get their packages all at once, because shipping is more expensive on multiple shipments. That might be the reason. The person who posted this lives in Australia. I am not justifying this; I am just looking for an explanation.

Hmm...the Young Green Dragon has 3 different colors on its body while the Young Red dragon is...red. Disappointing.
