It's getting closer to  that time again.
I love these, not just for the stats, but also reading between the lines for the authors' bias for or against the factions/pieces involved.  Please please please SOMEONE more saavy than myself, do another of these?

The way the rares are shaping up sad to say winning a sealed event the Large Gold Dragon will rule the day other than that it's a bunch of also rans with the other rares

Yep, the LGDs should take the day, barring any fall to heathen unskilled hands

Thanks Doubt.

In the meantime, here's a simpler guide:

Step 1- Pull Large Gold Dragon.

I agree.  The LGD looks to be the beast of the set.Â

But keep in mind that it could be tough to field a good warband near 8 activations and 200 pts with such a large costed mini in a sealed event.  So although a beast, the LGD might be beatable.Â

Also keep in mind Wolfgar, and there are still a lot of other unknown Rares yet to be discovered.Â

Profit from pulling a LGD is right. I don't need the metallic dragons for rpg purposes, so if I pull a LGD, it's going straight into my trade pile.

I don't think you'll have any trouble trading away your Large Gold.

LGD is the easiest to say at this point... still a lot of interesting pieces out there not stated... and if LGD isn't independent you're still facing a 40% chance of 140pts going bye bye bye... and thats what's known as an auto loss... As long as your tourny goes 5 rounds it's pretty likely to happen...

Wulfgar might be the beast!!! Dread Wraith even looks fun in sealed (notice i said fun not competitive)... in sealed you never quite know what will happen... I took fifth with a chasme and howler last time round and missed top four due to a bye/drop situation... or was that two sets back???

Raistlin also looks solid for his cost...

in sealed the uncommons often make and break in the end...
Rock Bottom Pricing:
Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

Yeah, but it's esier to pull one rare than two.

In the end, LGD may get you a ways, but some skill will be required to win it all.

Yeah, the Hobgoblin Marshal will stir things up in the pre-release events. That one-man GMA could be huge with the right allies.

Yeah, pulling sweet rares isn't all to difficult to strategize around. Figuring out what goes best with crap rares (like the WD release where I got dual warduke) is the true need for the guide.

Huge Fiend Spider

Mountain Troll for huges

Dragonborn Fighter

Wizend Elder Watcher as my rares.  I got last.  Made me feel sad after my War Drums pull of War Troll/Khumat.

While we're getting off-subject, I been searching the better part of today, and all I've found are Unhallowed and Dragon Queen. I Googled, I Yahoo-ed, I searched here (Maxminis) there (Hordelings), and everywhere (DDMSpoilers and even WotC) and I gots nuthin'. I even emailed Doubtofbuddha and Felagund. HALP!

Where are War Drums and Underdark?
