| Has anyone tried using the "Descent" board game for Dnd Minis? Has anyone played the game at all? Is it worth the heavy price tag?
Thanks...

| | I saw this today at the LGS, but I did not have the time to look at it very close. Need to head back sometime soon. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148- | |

| I haven't played the game yet, but just got finished painting up some of the minis. The large figures (demon, naga, dragon, giants) are on larger bases than 40mm. They are very large. The naga, for example, dwarfs it's DDM counterparts.
They PC figures are a bit on the small size (20-25mm), so someone interested in the game for the minis will (IMO) get more milage from the monsters.
I really like the nagas, the dragons, and the spiders, but could give or take the rest. Your use may vary.

| | The squares on the interlocking tiles are almost exactly the same size as those on normal DDM maps... so they can be used to create maps for DDM... it is IMHO a good game, and worth the money... | | Completed Trades (26): dropbear(5), cormulan, vash9284(2), caliban(2), minatoman38(2), doone, bugsy, sjpadbury, hockeyfan, thor, smithmeg, sttmxn, ckissee, oni, avrivah, thenameless, griffrat, thailfi, lcs | |

| I've not played it, but I've played the Doom board game which uses a similar system. It was fun, but took a long time, even after several playings.

| Yes it's quite a fun game actually. The Minatures and modular dungeon pieces are quite nice. The Game runs much like the Doom game put out by Fantasy Flight.... As far as the price tag goes... all i can say is that I didn't pay full price for the game.

| Hello!
Not only have I played the game, but I am designing scenarios for it. They have free software on the site.
As for minis, one can create interesting theatres of battle such as three dimensional temples, etc (using stairs). | | "Success Favors the Prepared Mind" - Albert Einstein

| | I own the game and it is worth the price, imo. The miniatures are excellent and the map pieces are a good scale for DDM. The game itself is fairly fast paced with your average game taking about 2 hours to play. | | Completed Trades: Crescent Hawk, Vimes, demagogue, vidman, Eric is God, Strachan Fireblade, FungiMuncher, Dudeeehm, Shasack, gausse, kyrin, nyjastul69 Champion of the Remorhaz | |

| I own and have played the game, it is quite enjoyable, but takes approximately three to four hours to complete a standard scenario.
I haven't tried it with D&D Miniatures, but the idea has crossed my mind. An actual scenario seems like it would be enjoyable, the rooms range from 4x4 to about 6x8. So there's plenty of mileage in map design. Also corridors and such can create interesting chokepoints with line of sight.
There is also terrain (walls, pits, water) which can block line of sight, line of effect etcetera.
As a game in and of itself, it is worth purchasing, in my opinion. If you can get more mileage from it with D&D Miniatures, all the better.
