| Wow. If these really do line up with figures we'll have by the end of the year, we can count on the following huges to be amongst the DQ 12 (including those known from other sources):
Huge Blue Dracolich Forest Giant Aspect of Tiamat (8 Headed?) Hydra Huge Monstrous Spider Yrthak Giant Crocodile Tendriculous
Any I missed?

I'm curious to see which of these actually appear among the huges, and which fall under the "reasonable proxy" category. For example, I'd say that it's more likely we'll see a large-sized crocodile before we see a huge one. Who knows though. | | Champion of the Rakshasa. | Just to hedge out bets here, Shoe said: quote: However, those of you with minis (so, all of you) should be able to determine which minis to use, since most of the encounters use creatures that either are currently minis, have reasonable approximations, or will be minis sometime this year...
So, *most* of these creatures either:
a.) already have a mini, b.) have a reasonable approximation, *or* c.) will be released as minis sometime this year.
Accordingly, we have no idea which of the 'new' monsters listed above will make it to figure form this year, as some of them will not (because only *most* will be figures by the end of the year).
In fact, Shoe's comment would be accurate if the only creatures in the above list that made it into figure form by the end of the year were the ones that were already produced and the Aspect of Tiamat. In other words, we might not get a Hydra, Tendriculous, Forest Giant, Assassin Vines, Spider Eaters, Stirge, Goblin Worg Rider, or any of the others ...

I'd take that bet ... Check your 3.5 MM. There is no such thing as a large crocodile in D&D. Normal crocodiles are medium (even advanced ones), and giant ones are huge. Unless they release a 'crocodile under the effects of animal growth' mini, I think we're unlikely to see any large crocs ... | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. The designers said they could really only release the piece as a huge, not large. The necks were too small and tended to break or bend too much at the smaller "large" size. Besides, the Races of the Dragon improved the size of the Aspect of Bahamut ot huge. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

WotC has said that they're redoing it as a Huge instead of a Large, simply because you can't get a five-headed dragon sculpt to look good without making it at least Huge. | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. BW Called Shot: Babau, UH Called Shot: Aspect of Vecna

Interesting...I think we can count on an Aspect of Bahamut in WotDQ, then. Perhaps:
Aspect of Bahamut Aspect of Tiamat Tendriculos Yrthak 8-Headed Hydra Huge Earth Elemental Huge Black Dragon Huge Blue Dracolich Giant Crocodile Huge Monstrous Spider A Huge Giant(hopefully Death or Eldritch) Celestial Triceratops | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. | A lesser bonedrinker would be great, it could proxy for any small fleshy undead like zombie halflings (or children).
WotC has shown in the past that they feel no inclination to release related mini's together, so I see no reason for them to start now. Aspect of Bahamut is doubtful in WotDQ, in my opinion. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) Uncommon Painting Competition 2 Winner

There aren't any references to minis in the book--Shoe has confirmed as much. He also claims that we're clever enough (or the choices are obvious enough) to figure out what currently available minis should be used when the encounter is run--although he did hint that some were coming in the next year that would be appropriate as well.
I guess they take the whole "leak" thing pretty seriously now. [V] | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?
