| A whole list of possibilities... (insert mad cackle of glee). I see a Talon of Tiamat on the list there. Goes with my previous predictions that we'll see one in WotDQ most likely.
We got a called shot thread for WotDQ yet? Got to search... | | You see! There ARE others out there just like me. What? Why are laughing?

They're scaled for minis, but they're not tournament legal (no starting or victory areas).

Remember that the aspect of tiamat in the MHB is large, not huge.
That's true. But the section on Aspects also clearly states that Aspects come in other sizes, larger and smaller, too. But the majority are Large.
If they're goint to change sizes, it might as well be on the Dragons. I'd hate to get a SMALL Aspect of Vecna or a MEDIUM Aspect of Lolth. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

As I said earlier in this thread, the book Races of the Dragon has made the Aspect of Bahamut huge, not large. The aspects of Tiamat and Bahamut will be huge, now. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

| I'm not disputing (or I'm not intending to dispute) what's in the Races of the Dragon, dariustad. I don't have that book and likely never will.
I'm trying to clarify that Aspects (all Aspects) come in a variety of sizes from Small to Huge (pg. 47, Miniatures Handbook). People seem to get hung up on the whole size issue, and it's already been built into the Aspect rules.
I guess I should have stated that the Miniatures Handbook stated that the Aspects are usually (almost always) Large, but come in both larger and smaller sizes. So, it is possible to have a Small Aspect of Lolth (interesting conversion for a Spider of Lolth and a Lidda, Adventurer...) et al.
Since I'm inadvertantly honking everyone off: did RotD change the stats on Bahamut on non-size related issues at all? | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

Nah, you're not bothering me. WotC has basically shown they go with newer released material than old. So, I think they'd go with the huge over the large. I understand what you're saying about the size issue in relating to the aspects. The Aspect of Bahamut seems to be a special case since it was updated for huge size. In some ways, I think they're trying to move the RPG info from the MiniH to other books.
As for the stats, I'll run a quick compare and post a follow-up. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

| Comparison between Large and Huge Aspect of Bahamut (no stats will be printed, only correlations):
Huge aspect has: more HP slightly higher AC modifications to stats for being huge over large only higher fort save breath weapon still 1/day, but slightly more powerful
Basically, it's the large aspect +2 HD and the huge modifiers to its stats (STR and CON).
That's it.
I can see the increase as a way to make an aspect of Bahamut that has a chance vs. a huge aspect of Tiamat. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

Yes, the Sons of Gruumsh had suggested minis to use for the various encounters. Quite useful actually... | | Email Offers | Trade History Champion of the Frost Giant Jarl "Pray that you meet death standing on your feet, rather than on your knees."

| I think they've moved away from that because we were getting too many leaks from published sources.
From the flip side of that argument, though, most of us are clever enough to be able to figure out which minis can be used for each adventure, and which ones make suitable proxies, though. So it's actually a bit redundant to have that section in there.
While I enjoyed getting the leaks, I enjoy getting a better value for my dollar even more, and without those "suggested minis" sections, WotC have more space to devote to the actual adventure.
So, in the end: We get a bigger bang for the buck and WotC shuts down leaks. It seems fairly win/win as far as I'm concerned. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?
