| I just read this on paizo about the star wars minis and was wondering if they are going to do it with D&D minis:

| | Scenarios were a great success with Star Wars minis, many people played them and follow the development of every one in each set, the universe that was cancelled was upgraded to the ATTACK ON ENDOR SET which brings miniatures and aditional features, if WOTC see a substancial success in this could think about upgrading D&DM to this level, that could be excellent because more RPG gamers would enter in skirmish. | | Knight of the Quori Champion of King Kaius III of Karrnath

| | I'm not sure how in depth the star wars scenarios are, but don't they sort of already do this for DDM with the fantastic locations, just those don't come with the minis. | | Quis custodiet ipsos custodes--Who will gaurd the guards? Champion of the Commoner Mob Leader | |

| Interesting. I wouldn't be opposed to this kind of thing happening with DDM. It would be cool to have a way to get a batch of minis, knowing what each one is before you pay for it. (Other than the basic game)

| The old Ultimate Missions line sold poorly, didn't it? That's why they didn't bother to produce one for Universe. I never saw one for Revenge of the Sith, either.
The AT-AT and Attack on Endor are basically filler releases to keep interest in the game during the long wait between Universe and Champions of the Force. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) Uncommon Painting Competition 2 Winner

| The original method of selling SWM maps was the Ultimate Missions books. The MSRP of $30 was very high for a double sided map and lop-sided scenarios - and SWM players let WotC know how displeased they were.
Attack on Endor is the new way to sell SWM maps. SWM added a popular Huge mini to a pack of 4 maps figuring that the mini would help drive sales even for people who don't want the maps. There is a strong demand for a 2nd scenario pack later this year (SWM desperately needs maps designed for tournament play), but chances are not good since all the map artists have been busy turning out the great DDM maps.
DDM has Fantastic Locations, which sells to both RPG and DDM players, so there is no need for scenario packs.

| I heard that the reason that they are doing Attack on Endor (scenario instead of a set) was that the first four sets were released faster than they would have released them if they went at their planned rate. Lucas wanted a certain number of sets released quickly--with the RotS set released sooner due to Lucas' desire to have it come out near the time of the movie. WotC only had so many sets in development. Now, there is a gap until they are ready for the next set. They didn't want the line to languish until then, so they decided to release a scenario to plug the gap.
If someone who knows more about SWM can clarify this, please do. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse

That's exactly the problem : I'm not interested if there aren't any minis. If they put a few ones inside (cherry on the cake : put some minis of the older sets), I'll definitely buy these. | | Vindicated Champion of the PSEUDODRAGON (Unhappy) vindicated champion of the DRYAD Against the giants called shot : huge cloud giant female Demonweb called shot : ghost

| @Corim Danex That's partially true. The maps in the scenario pack would have been in Ultimate Missions: Universe if that book hadn't been cancelled. Whether or not the maps would have been sold on their own without minis if there was not a large gap between sets is an interesting speculation. | | | |

As the ATAT they should come with two maps and some scenarios instructions, maybe a Dread enemy mode to fight in the Dragon lair. | | Knight of the Quori Champion of King Kaius III of Karrnath

| | It was just said today more packs will be made. The pack is indead a replacement to UM which as was said at 30 bones was a rip. I believe however AoE was held because of the wait(renegotiation of the SWM line) to give us(the SWM player) something between Universe and CotF. Which is now not coming out until June. Also they seem to be cutting SWM down to 2 a year with the new Starship game(SWMSS)Galatic Conquest. Taking a release once a year. By the way the "map packs" include a huge(AT-ST)repainted and in a different pose and 3 older released minis(a Scout Trooper, Storm Trooper, and Storm Trooper Commander). Also included is 2 double sided maps(which again was confirmed they are actually the UM:U maps) and a scenario booklet(which has scenario's for every faction including the Vong). | | Champion of Jarlaxle Sets: Star Wars Year one complete,44/60 Champions of the Force,0/60 Bounty Hunters | |

| | I think that D&D game day was a trial of sorts. They packaged an adventure with minis for use with gameday. Not sure what the feedback was the idea, I just remember most saying the adventure was too tough for the PCs in it. | | Champion of Cyclops

| | This would certainly make the people calling for "themed sets" happy. DDM and SWM still seem to have slightly different marketing schemes so I don't imagine WOTC will be throwing something like this at us for a while (at least not until there's a lag in sales). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a.
