As for War Drums; several of the minis in this set were selected specifically from monsters we used in the adventure but didn't yet have corresponding miniatures; in a way, Rich and I got to influence the direction of the monster choices for this set. I can't wait to see how some of them turn out...
[...]
Some of the adversaries you may see as miniatures include the Doom Fist monk, the Blood Ghost berserker, the Kulkor Zhul sorcerer, and the hobgoblin warpriest.

| | I'll give it a chance. BUt it would be much better if it was MONSTER that was a monk. I have not had a chance to pick up the RHoD yet. BUt if there is a mini in the WD set that is a monster and a monk I am cool with that. I mean I have around like 15 dolguant monks and want more. I feel that figure was cool enough on its on merits | | Ambassador of FUN!!! | |

| According to the other RHoD thread, the monk is a hobgoblin and the berserker is a bugbear.
These are supposed to be enemies in the module, so the Kulkor Zhul sorceror is probably based on some type of monstrous humanoid or monster as well.

| | It does seem odd that we have so many monks from an RPG perspective but they are pretty fun in skirmish. And hobgoblin monk means it would probably be an LE monk, and we haven't had a good LE monk (skirmish-wise) since well, never. The Dark Moon Monk is used but not for her monk abilities but for her magic weapon spells. | | | |

Amen to that! I for one really liked the dolguant monk mini and wish I had even more.
'Doom Fist monk, the Blood Ghost berserker, the Kulkor Zhul sorcerer, and the hobgoblin warpriest.'
Most of these can be subbed with an existing mini pretty much, I would like more Bugbears and Hobgoblins mind you and hopefully we shall find out more over the next couple of months. We know of three goblins in WD so I'm expecting Hobbies and Bugbears will come mostly with WotDQ set. | | "I was sittin' here eatin' my muffin, drinkin' my coffee, replayin' the incident in my head, when I had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity." - Jules Winnfield Sales/Trades Bad (1): Ironfist Boulderbender Trades/Sales completed (8.): Danthl, Dafrca, Garyaxe, qillan_dvra, realmaster, Vandal_Savage, cavedweller, unearthed arcana. | I would expect to see a hobgoblin warpriest modeled on the Hobgoblin Adept (Chainmail) appear in War Drums or DQ. Then I can add it to my list of Chainmail minis we'll likely never see online stat cards for. Sigh.

Hobgoblin Warpriest sounds pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see if any of these actually get made.
There must be games out there that have a lot of monks. I've never seen them, but they have to be out there. The prevalence of monks (often poorly done) must prove this.
Why don't they tie in a broken character! How about a Vow of Poverty Half-celestial monk. [:P]

Ya damn skippy Id LOVE a Gnome Monk.
Yes we have to many monk minis...but to be more spacific we have to many HUMAN monk minis.
Take away humans and we have a Half-Orc and a Githzeri in terms of PC minis....thats it.
So I want another human monk as much as a hole in the head..but Id really like to see a Gnome, Halfling, Elf, or Dwarf monk minis...in both genders!
