| Not sure if this should be in Off Topic or not, but this is a trading site. I haven't made an online trade in weeks. I'm getting all twitchy from the lack of trading, but I just am not finding anything I want...and I'm saving back my own trade fodder for the War Drums set.
Anyone else having the same problems or is it simply business as usual? | | | |

| Well I know that after a recent problem that I had, which was my fault and a real screw up, I'm holding off for a little while.
I'm also holding off my choice rares for the possible trades in WD. I know I need a few pieces from UD, but I can be patient and wait for a good trade to come along.
I'd like to start up trading again, once I get into my house so that I can focus on doing it right again. | |

| I am on the opposite side, I am trying to trade the most I can to have 45 or 50 completed trades by the time the WD frenzy hits the trades forums. I still have a few
rares I want to pick up and many I am willing to trade, with more coming in soon. If I can help a few finish their sets, that would be great too, so that everyone will be on the WD beat at the same time. | |

| Well after the first couple of hundred trades, the novelty wears off a bit...[:D]. I still make some trades, just not as many as in years past. Mostly they are structured to help someone fill their needs where I feel I get similar value in return that I could later trade or sell to third parties. In fact dropped a couple of parcels off this morning on the way to work. I have been relatively busy with non trading activity this past year as well which cuts down on the time available to work them. I also made a concious decision to cut back from dropping trade offers down on almost every thread that popped up in the forum, in order to give others a better chance to solve each others needs without acting as the third party. I can recall some action a couple of years back where I was sending out to one party many of the same minis I was going to be getting in from another party in a different trade. Should have put some RFID tags on them to see if those minis made a great circle and came right back home. I know I made some trades with some guys that we ended up shipping some of the same minis back and forth as needs and wants shifted.
By far the boards are more for discussion and speculation than for trading at this point for me and I suspect many other seasoned traders. | |

| I usually do 1 or 2 trades after my initial case or two of boosters comes in, but as I accumulate more boosters at limited events/prize winnings, I usually just hold onto those figures for a larger trade when the next set comes out, or I trade them locally. Why pay shipping?

| I put up a big trade list a few weeks ago and had no movement on it.
I think that the big barriers to my trading are
1)A lot of the trade lists that people post are have/wants for rares and they don't need or don't include C/U
2)I have no rares for trade, just lots of recent C/U
3)All of my needs are rares or older C/U.
They tend to not match up well with other peoples lists.
I've started selling off my trades on eBay just to get a little something for them. | |

Rather than holding onto all of my older minis, I've started selling large lots on ebay (ID Peddiedad). I sell 3-4 lots each week and will do so for about another month in order to purge my collection of minis which someone else may find valuable. | |

| Only reason my trades are slowing is I'm running out of stuff to trade. I've had a great time wheeling and dealing and can't wait to get new rares to go at it again.
Maxminis is still THE place for high quality traders. I won't go elsewhere (other than face to face locally). | |

| Well, after "the incident" with a particular user who shall remain nameless, I kind of backed off trading. It just left a bad feeling in my gut.
I was never very prolific to begin with so it wasn't very difficult for me. I use ebay to complete most of my sets now, but I still keep an eye out for occassional trades. Mostly, I don't see anything that can give me as much as it would give to someone else.

| I'm basicly done with all the older stuff other than a handful of commons and uncommons I'd like to get...none of which I want enough to bother doing a trade just for their sake.
Like a lot of people I'm waiting on the next set. I'll probably try to do as much of the trading locally as possible (now that I can) and just do a couple of trades on max to get what I cannot get here.
My older and somewhat good stuff I'll mostly hold onto until WotDQ.

| I only want a few repaints and some ultra rares (DCoL,Huge Red,Large Sliver) so I don't do much trading between sets.
I usually get most of what I want out of the cases I buy and make a few trades to complete the set at the release time. Between the set releases I only make the odd trade to get a duplicate rare I like or if I see a couple of repaints I don't have. | | | |
