Wohh, you get 10% off, I wish my guy got me that much [:D]
They are really not doing themselves any favors by discouraging bulk sales. I have seen four game stores come and go in my area. I would go in there, but MSRP on Everything. Never any discounts to speak of. | | My LFGS give a 30% if you order at least 2 cases and 25% for 1 case. He knows that he has to compete with the online dealers and we all told him we would rather buy from him if he could give us a good deal. He said if we paid in advance he would do it. | | I recently made friends with a comic shop owner in the town where I commute to college (about an hour from my home). He actually doesn't deal in "gaming stuff," however, when I asked him about DDM cases, he seemed interested in acquiring a couple for me. He matched my ebay price per case--no tax, and, 'cause he doesn't deal in such merchandise regularly, he'll let me pick 'em up when they get there (which could be a couple of days early). Pretty cool guy. | | **Note: Unless otherwise stated all my minis are unbagged** My reference thread is at: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12765 Graduate school is swollowing my soul!!!! | | I tihnk my FLGS gives 25% discounts. They also have several deals with local groups (college gaming groups, local gaming societies) to give them 10% off any purchases they make. What is nice is the 10% is nothing huge, but it is a ncie gesture and gets them back in to spend more money. | | Sean Banks Champion of Elementals Official Organizer Gen Con 05 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 06 maxminis Event | Gen Con 06 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 07 Community Event

| | My FLGS has been giving me a 25% discount since Harbinger. He has humbly told me that he now has to drop it to 20%, because his costs went up. I still plan on buying them from him. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. | My FLGS and I have a 21% discount agreement on cases. I pay $120 for cases, flat rate...that includes tax. I'm happy with the arrangement and would rather pay more for my cases to them than go online and buy them. My FLGS orders the retailer kit and lets me run tourneys at will.
We have a solid relationship and while I could get them for less online, I value the relationship we have and the online retailers don't give me space to hold tournaments. That being said, if I didn't have a good relationship with a FLGS, I'd be all over buying online. Some FLGS's just don't value their customers so I don't blame anyone for going online.

| When you reference 10%, 20% or 25%, I assume you are talking about the MSRP of a booster which is 12.99, right? It is meaningless to talk about 25% off if you are coming from a price of say 15.00 per booster or something.

| | At home my FLGS charges 10 bucks per booster no tax so I dont even bother buying cases I just buy from him whenever I go in. Down here at school they charge 14 and tax and to buy cases from them I'd get a 10% discount, not worth it at all. When I offered to but 5 cases of minis for a better discount they flipped at me. I guess theyre no so much the FLGS then. I miss North Jersey... | | Champion of the Tohr-Kreen. WotDQ Called Shot: Fang Dragon. | |

| Slight diversion to the topic but my FLGS just told me last night that WotC is limited them to two league packs per month for a while (next few months is how it was said to me). They normal get four packs, two for tournaments, one for league and one for RPG events. Anyone else hear about these limits?

| I haven't heard about that, but WotC May be looking to reduce their costs. Rumor has it that the revised Broken Demongate map will be included, and either they can't afford to fill teh warehouse with kits, but they want to make sure everyone can get some (i.e. limit to 2), or they are nervous about general supply...
Just a thought.

There's a store about 30 minutes from me that doesn't give any kind of discount. You pay full booster price even if buying a full case. It's a great store, for a lot of items especially comics, but I will not buy cases from them. | | Ghendar - Now snark free!

| The store where I buy boosters now and then, has no complete cases to offer.. I think. At least they said they received them loose. Plus, it always seems very delayed (by months).
The other store I knew that sells them, had the boosters way overpriced. I didn't ask yet for a case, fearing the price.
Alakai pointed me to a shop in his neighbourhood, which I visited once. (It had cases.) But it required me an hour train ride and about an half hour by tram/metro..
Lately I ordered online. | | Champion of Dragotha
