Can any retailer order these, or does the retailer need to run sanctioned events?

You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com

I'm fairly certain that any retailer can order up to 4 kits per month. They merely need to have a relationship with WotC and the necessary paperwork I'm sure.

Correct me if I'm wrong... Retail kits are direct merchanise between WOTC and Retail stores. It is not normally sold through the wholesale distributors.

I know he doesn't order directly from WotC, he orders through Alliance.

hmmmm! I thought the retailers had to run sanctioned events to get the kits and the closest gaming store to me that runs events is a 2 hour drive.

there are only two of us in town intrested in minis. I'll have to see if the local gaming store will order the retail kits for us. Maybe we can finally get around to trying to set up events ourselves.

The store I play at told me last night that WotC is going to limit them to two kits for the next few months. I guess this a reaction to the popularity of the epic cards.

Our store uses a kit for each tournament (2/month), one for league and one RPG events. I guess the repaints will be scarcer here in Raleigh for a bit.

Really? Interesting. Maybe that means there will be one or two very popular cards released in the next few months.

I'd like to see people try to get tiles from the kits, now. The cards replaced the tiles.

This is correct. Wizards has started limiting the league kits to two per store per month. The paperwork inside does mention either running sanctioned DCI events, or RPGA events to get the kit, but I do not know how strictly that is enforced. We run DCI events every week for D&D minis as well as Star Wars minis so I make sure we don't do anything illegal. :-)

2 kits per month is going to suck. I have to fight to get my kit now, guess ill just have to knock off the competition.

Exactly and no one cared about getting the same stupid tile over and over again or another crappy Dwarf Wizard with the queer orange cape.

Another note: you have to have a brick and mortar store to buy retailer kits. Have to have somewhere to demo the games...

Sounds like the next couple of Epic cards are going to be even more ludicrously priced on ebay.
