Based upon cost (and whether a commander or not), these are my educated guesses at the distribution amongst the various slots:

Commons:

Slot 1 (4 - 9 pts)
Shieldwall Soldier
Skeletal Legionnaire
Hunting Cougar
Arcanix Guard

Slot 2 (11 - 12 pts)
Troglodyte Thug
Derro
Quaggoth Slave
Hobgoblin Archer

Slot 3 (12 - 14)
Horde Zombie
Halfling Slinger
Axe Soldier
Goblin Blackblade

Slot 4 (15 - 26)
Orc Mauler
Wood Elf Ranger
Terror Wight
Howling Orc

Uncommons:

Slot 1 (up to 25 points)
Warforged Scout
Steelheart Archer
Large Duergar
Sacred Watcher
Karnathi Zombie
Frost Dwarf
Flameskull*

Slot 2 (Commanders - definite)
Tiefling Blademaster
Warpriest of Moradin
Inspired Lieutenant
Goblin Underboss
Warforged Captain
Brass Samurai
Lion of Talisid

Slot 3 (Expensive: 28 pts and up)
Hill Giant Barbarian
Melphling Pyromancer
Blood Ghost Beserker
Fiendish Girallon
Warforged Bodyguard
Elemental Wall
Combat Medic*

*********

These are based entirely on point costs, which has been a great indicator of the distribution slots.

These all make fairly good sense to me, with the exception of the combat medic and the flameskull ... which seem to be good candidates to ignore the point cost basis for splitting the lists. My gut tells me those two may switch up.

If you get a chance to open boosters, you might want to see if these lists match up with your results.

I've been simulating boosters based upon the above assumptions ... and I'm getting some interesting results. This is going to be a battle of the titans set in limited events. I'm generating a lot of 5 activation warbands, with some being as low as 3 activations, and some being as high as 8.

To a large extent, I'm finding it very difficult to work in more than 1 figure between 9 and 24 points in these limited draw warbands ...

Well, it seems nobody cares about this interesting subject. [)] Regardless, I'll post a few more interesting tidbits that might be of interest to people playing limited this (or next) weekend ... all of this being subject to this distribution turning out to be correct ...

This set is very expensive. Specifically, the point cost of pieces is up pretty high. The average rare cost is ~ 57 points. 5 of the 7 uncommon commanders cost ~50 points. That means that players that draw 2 quality rares and play a strong uncommon commander will likely have already used up 165 of their points in those 3 figures. That only leaves ~35 points.

Those 35 points can either buy 1 extra power uncommon, a secondary commander, or a combination of between 2 and 4 commons/cheap uncommons.

Of course, some people will find themselves with cheaper rares (orc war drummer + zakya rakshasa is only 55 points), others will find themselves with more expensive rares (there are 7 rares with cost 65 or above), and others will find themselves unable to use both rares (Obould doesn't allow another rare commander to be used, and some of the other rares are just bad in this environment (Snig, Dragon Totem hero). But, the majority of limited players will find themselves in a neighborhood where their 3 core creatures will have a total cost of ~160 or more points.

One figure that has turned out to be a surprisingly bad pull: King Obould Many Arrows. Pulling him and using him means that you can't play 2 of your uncommons (the commanders), and you have a 26% chance of being unable to run your other rare. They should have made it so that when Obould is in a warband, any other commander in the warband loses their commander rating and commander effects ...

One of the best pulls in the uncommon slots has been the warforged scout. Assault points are nice, but his value really comes in when he gives you another cheap mini to grant additional activations. If you can get up to 7 or 8 activations, you have a good chance of having a significant activation advantage over your foes ...
