Easy. Some minis increase in value much more quickly than, say, mutual funds, or, say, student loans. So, invest some of your money each month by buying minis.

Of course, this means you'll have to sell some of your favorite minis too, every so often.

(Then again, who am I to talk, I'm hording my two Drizzts like they were made of gold.)

Gold isn't appreciating as fast as Drizzt [:P]

Definitely "invest" in minis. Find a creative enough accountant and you can include them under investments for tax purposes [:D]

I wish I could be of help, but the gas situation has been killing me, too.

If you've got a long commute back and forth to work (and haven't received a raise in a while) you might be able to talk your boss into a cost-of-living raise. Especially since gas prices have yet to settle into their previous range. An additional 30% in fuel costs can really add up.

Oh, I nearly forgot--If you usually buy premium or mid-grade, you might want to consider dropping down a grade of fuel. That might help free up some bucks--probably not enough, though.
