From Wardrums starter text from WotC products page: "In addition to new components, the overall game rules have been updated to facilitate faster gameplay and
encourage larger battles.
"
What does this mean? Horde zombie & Karrnathi zombie? I haven't read the new rulebook thoroughly, but I didn't notice anything pointing towards this. I'd like to have rules for larger battles, where hordes are favoured over few juggernauts and figure limit increased.
I just wonder how can it be said that larger battles are encouraged as maximum warband limit is reduced by one third?

Probably means larger battles as in, not as much fodder just moving around, jocking for initiative control. I think the battles are definetely a lot "bigger" with only 8 units instead of 12. Bigger to you I think means more peices. Bigger to me means more climatic battles. As in, the peices I'm using are actually fighting and doing something. Not moving around for half the game, so that my hitters can eventually be the last ones in a round to hit.

And you can afford bigger units in an army now. And those pre-releases were full of titans too. [:p]

Probably the "activate at the same time" kinds of things ... also the scale up to the 500/1000/etc. points.

I plopped my horde of horde zombies and legion of skeletal legionaires on the floor just this morning in a bunch of regiments with skeleton archers in skirmish formation behind each regiment.
I thought LONG and hard about mass battles--then I got ready for work.

i have the beggininngs of several mass battle armies and am hoping that it will eventually take off.
The rules are almost fine-tuned though there are some quirks. So I keep all my commons and uncommons until the day it actually starts.
