| I had an interesting exchange today with a plastics maker regarding the creation of clear blue plastic "water" bases. I intend to mount some of the small PVC sea creatures I've found on these bases so that I can have minis for sharks particular.
Is anyone else besides me interested in these clear blue plastic bases? What about clear blue plastic bases with sharks/octopuses? | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. BW Called Shot: Babau, UH Called Shot: Aspect of Vecna

| | That is a cool idea, I have some sea minis that I haven't mounted on a base yet cause I haven't figured out whats the best way too do it. Such as plastic sharks, octopi and turtles. | | Champion of the Peryton Vindicated Champion : Pit Fiend, Devourer DW: Duergar Priest RPG Only!!!! The Drumming Drunkn' DM | |

| | I think it is a cool idea, but how would it be read the information on the bottom of the base? | | Email Offers | Trade History Champion of the Frost Giant Jarl "Pray that you meet death standing on your feet, rather than on your knees." | |

| | I think people are misunderstanding me here. This is not a WotC thing, this is me potentially acquiring square clear plastic bases(no words on the bottom) for use with basing sea creature miniatures. | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. | | I may be weird, but I prefer all my mini bases to be uniform in shape, size, and color. | | Hypethetical Blood War Set List | Champion of the Gelugon | Vindicated Prophet of Blood War Ha 69/80 | De 60/60 | Ar 57/60 | GoL 72/72 | Ab 60/60 | DK 60/60 | AF 60/60 | UD 59/60 | WD 57/60 | WDQ 3/60| BW Total DDM Count: 1037 | No chance of finishing the set | Will finish the set | Set | |

| | One problem I see with this (for me anyway) is that for me the purpose of the base, other than helping the mini stand if it can't stand by itself, is to clearly deliniate on the grid battlefield which space or spaces the mini is occupying. Most of the "water" battle grounds I would use are clear blue plastic, clear blue resign lakes or rivers, or blue battlemats, so a clear blue base might be hard to see against that "water" surface. | | | |

| Hey, I think it's a great idea - I tossed the idea out for discussion in a thread on the Wizards' board last year. That was around the time that clear plastic was first being hotly debated.
There's a link to that original thread in a currently active thread about water-based minis in the Wizards' forums.
If you want to go to all that trouble, then I say more power to you. Please be sure and post some pics in the Painting/Sculpting section for us all to oooh and ahhh over - sometimes all it takes is someone like you to show some initiative and get people talking and initiate action from the powers that be.

| | I've got a sample of the plastic and some pretty nice looking PVC sharks, so I may give that a try. I'll take a look at the water minis thread on the Wizards forum, too -- thanks! | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. BW Called Shot: Babau, UH Called Shot: Aspect of Vecna | |

| Hey opus69 welcome too the boards old friend from the WOTC boards. I felt like it was only us too that wanted the aqua minis there. :)
I would be excited too, to see this also I take its for RPG only so that would be cool. Post pics once you get hold of them. I knew what you meant. | | Champion of the Peryton Vindicated Champion : Pit Fiend, Devourer DW: Duergar Priest RPG Only!!!! The Drumming Drunkn' DM

| | I'd just use the flying bases personally, otherwise ti would look like the creature was on top of the water. | | Completed trades: Zarnof, Salmander, Pigsnot, qillan_dvra, SilgentG, Ironfist Boulderbender, robdaman.
