| Just got the latest issue of Dungeon.
Yes I know Dungeon is not Dragon..But there are many Age of Worms articles in Dragon so it all ties together.
This guess is a stretch because it would be a unique sculpt.
Personally Im sticking with my earlier guess of Green Worm..but this issue of Dungeon did raise an eyebrow with me.
OK last chance to avoid what could be seen as an Age of Worms spoiler.
The last part of the AoW adventure path is in the issue. The final battle is against the god Kyuss himself. I guess its not to much of a spoiler since thats the cover of the magazine..But Im covering myself. :)
Kyuss is fought at the top of this tower it seems (I didnt read the adventure in detail yet). The issue comes with a poster/battlmat of the top of the tower so you can do the final battle in style with a fancy battlemat (its not skirmish game compatable).
Heres the thing though..what good is a battlemat that cant be used for skirmish..and when used for RPG there is no mini of the monster that should be fought in this location? Hmm? Hmm? Makes ya think.
And yes Kyuss' size is Huge.

Yes, he's one of the Dungeon "iconic" adventurers. IIRC they are based on the Dugeon crew's weekly PC's (but Iuz could speak more to that).
There is also a female tiefling with cool leopard like dappling across her shoulders/face, horns, and a tail.
A third character is a cleric of wee-jas with the an inspired looking helmet that does very little to protect, but looks cool as all heck.
Other's I've seen are a druid with a wolf head cloak, a dark skined male monk/sorceror, an elf warrior/thief in red cloth, and a fighter/paladin type with blue cloth and silver piecemeal armour.
I wouldn't mind seeing any of them as D&D minis at all!

Either of them would be cool to have multiples of. But I also agree that a repaint of the green worm would be more instep as the worm is an uncommon and I would be inclined to think that the Kyuss, while very cool, would be a rare. And, I just don't think a rare repaint would be in the mix. I might be wrong but just my thoughts.... | |

I can't see that Dragon is getting it's own Huge mini, that would cause too much of an uproar with the people who don't get the magazine. The promo has to be a repaint IMHO. And I can't image a Huge version of the Aspect of Nerull taking up one of the Huge slots. | |

Maybe not. If you repainted the black as a blue then yeah taht would freak some people out. But if you were to repaint a black with some dark green highlights and dark green in the wings then it migh not bee that bad for the black. Same thing with orange in the case of the CRD...just my thoughts.... | |

Well its true that there hasnt been a DDM yet that was a creature or character exclusive to Dragon/Dungeon yet. I'd personally love to see that change though. And I cant really see an upraor about that..At least no more of an uproar from non-Eberron players gettign Eberron minis. :) Correct me if Im wrong but the # of Dungeon Mag owners should be huge..Maybe comparable to Eberron book owners?

| It does seem pretty unlikely that it's Kyuss himself, considering that the mini is given away to Dragon subscribers, and not Dungeon subscribers. A purple worm repaint sounds a bit more likely.
I can't see Dragon giving away actual DRAGON minis though! If they're huge, and real dragons, they would probably be rares. They wouldn't give away Rares, would they?

I agree..I never thought of AoW and promo mini connection until I saw the pic of the Purple Worm mini in Preview 1....Then I realized how much is resembled the big greenies from AoW.
I wouldnt have picked a AoW thing as my 2nd guess either until a battlemat was released that was made for the final battle (wich is Kyuss).
For the record..the cover of the Dragon that reveals the promo has Tiamat on the cover...Hmmm.
I hope its not a Tiamat repaint...What the heck use would THAT have in RPG?
