| As the last thread was getting full and the answers now compiled and soon to be posted in the locked thread above, I thought it mihgt be time to start a new thread for questions. This might help Ian, Shoe, and Lidda in finding the questions and giving some of their wonderful, if not sometimes humorus responses.

| Two questions:
1. Is it possible for the European shops to get retailer kits with repaints and epic cards?
2. Can Wizards send some promo minis to European DDM developers to give away at various occasions? I - and many other Polish players - buy 3 cases of every set and the price is a lot higher than in USA (the same is when I order from USA - all the s/h and taxes crap...) - it would be nice if we could get some promo minis to every case or something...

| Just repeating a question asked in the last thread, so it doesn't fade into oblivion... [)]
I'd be interested to hear about the decision-making process that goes into which figures make it into sets, particularly the very limited huge slots. Is there a ratio of 'classic' MMI critters vs new stuff you try to maintain, or a distribution of alignments? What makes a rare, and what makes an uncommon? Obviously the more complex a mini and the more detailed its paint job, the more likely it is to be rare, but that shouldn't have a big impact on which mini concepts are put forward as possibilities.
Obviously the inspiration for this question is the Bluespawn Godslayer. It's a creature nobody has heard of (MMIV, presumably), from first appearances it doesn't look like something RPGers will be wanting multiples of (how many 'godslayers' are there in your campaign, much less templated ones?), and it's hard to see even skirmishers wanting more than about three or so. I can't personally see any reason that such a creature would be an uncommon, so I'd be interested in hearing the reasoning at your end... | | My Have/Want list: http://www.maxminis.com/hw_list.asp?user=Humble%20Minion Trade reference thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12743

Ah, rightio. I do remember reading about that, but hadn't heard anything about it for a while and wondered if it had faded off the radar. I'll look forward to the articles.

My question is, in previous conversations it was said that all mounted minis will be rare do to extra production steps, are both of these minis rare? To piggy back off that, if there is ever a huge mounted mini (since that last image seems to be some sort of elephant and they're Huge correct?) Does that same statement of Mounted Rares filter into the Huges? Could we possibly see Uncommon Mounted Huge minis?
I would think that the amount of production steps to create a Huge is roughly the same whether they are mounted or not. | | Champion of the Alhoon and my called shot for Unhallowed Blood War Called Shot: Phoenix Trade withe me!

| Okay, a post I made elsewhere just made me think of some cool questions to pose.
Question 1: is the Rust Monster among the figures in consideration for a release?
Question 2: any chance the Rust Monster will be the anti-Construct piece that CG so desires?
Question 3: if there were a forthcoming Rust Monster, and it did either great damage to Constructs or forced them to make Morale saves (or something else equally cool), would you say so here?
[:)]
Edit: Nobody's touched these questions, I wonder if it means anything.
Second edit: I continue to wonder if it means anything that no one has responded to these questions. /whistles/

| I'll answer the one's I can...
>>>Two questions:
1. Is it possible for the European shops to get retailer kits with repaints and epic cards?<<<
Yes we ship kit contents to various Hasbro offices each month. The contents are identical to the US one's but they assemble locally. Therefore any variance is due to that. Also any delay is due to either shipping and customs or their release schedules.
>>>2. Can Wizards send some promo minis to European DDM developers to give away at various occasions? I - and many other Polish players - buy 3 cases of every set and the price is a lot higher than in USA (the same is when I order from USA - all the s/h and taxes crap...) - it would be nice if we could get some promo minis to every case or something...<<<
That's down to where you get your cases. Plus we can't single out cases for just your country as they all come from select warehouses. Forinstance Europe orders cases and they get shipped to their designated warehouse. From there they are shipped to distributors across Europe. It's extremely hard to pack minis inside different cases as they may get sent pretty much anywhere in Europe from a huge inventry. When a distributor orders 200 cases the guys just grab a random 200 cases from the pile and sends them.
That said European offices also order and distribute alternative paint miniatures to shows and promotional events (like prereleases) as well. These are independant to the US and can be different miniatures to what is seen here. Yeah I know I've just sent you collectors into a spin as there are a bunch of low volume promotional pieces out there in Europe as well 8-)
Hope that helps.

OK: So, is dreamblade really sold at with 500 players? Or is it sold out since it was listed erroneously as being open to just 4 players.
I just tried to get a ticket (been trying since registration opened), and it is saying that the event is sold out already. It might be, but I suspect the system still thinks there are only 4 slots!

Now, clearly the catalog says there are only 4 slots for league, as well as dreamblade: BUT are you certain that that is the number that sold out? Do you see that reported somewhere ( I don't for Dreamblade...). Ian knew about this issue, so I'm very surprised this has happened...

| Ian,
The Gen Con League says that it will be 2 WotDQ boosters. It also says that it will be 200 pt warbands. Is that correct? (The assumption, specially with the 2 WotDQ boosters, has been that it will be 500 pt Epic warbands.)
Thanks

| Don't know if this has been answered already, if so: apologies.
With huges in WotDQ coming up and larger bases for large creatures, has the base material been changed? I noticed that a lot of the huge and some large bases tend to curl up and no amount of hot/cold water treatment will help.
just wondering,

| Shoe, Ian:
Limited play at WotDQ. We've realized that we have a "bit" of an issue with the MaxMini's event at GenCon. Namely, with GoL boosters, we told players that they could bring a booster, and keep their huge, and just draft with the 8 standard figures.
This isn't possible with WotDQ, as there are only 7 standard figures.
Have you given this any thought? Is there a way that you recommend utilizing WotDQ for 200 pt sealed events? Are there other issues that we don't know about (i.e. several King Snurre type figures that aren't really appropriate for 200 pt play to begin with) that further make this set inappropriate for 200 pt limited play?
Thanks in advance!

| We're using two WotDQ booster 14 figures to build 200-point with 'evolution' in effect (win a mini everytime you play and evolve the warband).
I still have the scars from when we gave away one-and-one to events. People were... we'll say 'vocal' about how they wanted two boosters of the latest set and nothing older and hence my decision.
Can you build 200-points OK? Good question and as per standard variables yes you can. Is it optimal? Well that's another question. If you like CE and get a 'good' mix then that is technically not optimal for 'you'. Anyway the best option is 1 WotDQ 1 WD if that's what you're looking for outside of what we're doing.
Other things internally we've tried: Add a booster after 'X' rounds. Have evolving warbands by randomly capturing a mini from the opponents sideboard*. Have evolving warbands by selecting a mini from the opponents sideboard*.
*we've tried both standard (as stated) or with the winner protecting one mini and going first. The mini then chosen is also protected.
It's kind of a gank but...
Next: I'm tinkering with team events, themed events, accumulator individual tournament.
Team events: - Multi-player events of two players (Ettin format possibly) - Individual matches with teams of 3 using a 'by round' accumulator from all three matches. 1 point loss, 3 points win. so variables from 3 - 9 points per round. Another advantage is that this can be run through existing tournaments each day for a total show without changes to what we're doing we just chose a tournament each day for this to count from.
Themed: Each day we have a list of themed warbands. 70 percent have to be of that type the rest have to be infaction. Example: Dwarves, Orcs, Goblins, Surface Elves. 140 point have to be spent on that Type the rest would be within the faction. Non-faction types could be drafted IF allowable by command abilities. Example: Any Orc is allowed in your warband - allowing Krusk to be with your Orc Champions(illustrative only). The following day maybe: Dwarves, Abberations, Outsiders, Drow. You get the idea. Winners are both for the individual tournament and overall event. With a winning faction/Type. Could you pilot the Dwarves to dominate the world?
Accumulator individual tournament: Event long you'd gain 1 or 3 points based on your win/loss games in designated tournaments (see team above) for an overall top player at show. That may well then be a person who wins 4-5 rounds of swiss in a lot of events and never makes the cut to a tournament final as opposed to just giving more prizes to the winner of a couple of events. Plus it rewards those that play more with another goal.
I hope this helps demonstrate we constantly are striving to evolve the fun and competition in the game. Also we don't just sit here on an Ivory Tower and pronounce the world is perfect [:)]
