| How would you feel about a figure that:
a.) Looked like a 5' wide segment of a wall of fire, b.) Was stated like an animated fire (see Spell Compendium), c.) Would 'interlock' with other copies of the same piece to form 10' wide (or wider) walls for RPG, d.) had an unusuall flat base, so that other figures could be set partially on the base for RPG uses (allowing the wall to be placed between squares insted of in squares), e.) Was a common.
Would this seem like a cool mini, or a bad idea? Why?
What if it was a stone wall (animated earth)? Wall of iron (animated object)? Wall of thorns (plant creature)? | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. I'd prefer living spells from Eberron, the concept is quite interesting. However, I think they could be very hard to sculpt. | | Fastest dropping DCI ranking on record! Champion of Juiblex

| | I agree that it sounds like a cool idea. I think that production-wise, however, it would be a nightmare. | | KoK: MiNi Apostle CHAMPION of STURM, SOLAMNIC KNIGHT | |

Nah, nothing's easier to sculpt than an amorphous blob of goo (or Good, or Fire, etc.), which is all most Living Spells are. [:p]
I'd love Wall Segments that could double as individual creatures--one of my custom classes can summon Walls (Fire, Ice, Shadows, Gravity, etc.), and we have to just draw them as lines on the battle map. Having Wall minis would be *very* cool.

Because...? | | I changed my mind. I like a "wall" as a common. That is a very cheap way to get terrain. | | Fastest dropping DCI ranking on record! Champion of Juiblex

| | I'd dig it. That, along with flaming spheres, bigby's hands, spectral hands, etc would be cool. Magnificent Ego's makes some of those, but 5 bucks for an inch section of wall isnt such a good deal, and their tin alloy sucks (its brittle and seems to repel paint). | | Completed trades: Zarnof, Salmander, Pigsnot, qillan_dvra, SilgentG, Ironfist Boulderbender, robdaman.

| | Why not, we already have an elemental (rock) wall from War Drums. Another elemental wall or a Living Spell sound great! | | Originally posted by Schooly_D Username - he deals in minis Champion of Lhesh Haruuc Shaarat'kor | |

| Just stick a bunch of small fire elementals in a line. Voila! Wall of fire [:P]
For the large version a quick wash of red paint on a bunch of Elemental Walls and voila! Large Wall of Fire [:P]
Interlocking bases would be a pain in the arse to produce and would be completely out of line with the production model for DDM. I can pass on this. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. | Because it would just piss me off to pull a piece of wall, that looks different than other minis, from the booster. Maybe as a bonus in starters or something... But not a normal common.
It would be cool in some boxed set with furniture, non-combatats etc. but not in a normal set.

| | I side with Zenthrus. If they turn out all of the small elementals, we can use those to represent wall spells. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

| 1) If it was actually wide enough to interlock with other pieces, it would stick out into other squares too much for skirmish, IMO. One of the more annoying traits a figure can have, I think.
2) it would be useless as an actual wall in RPG most of the time. Walls typically go along the border between squares and don't have thickness. Having a piece that actually takes up space on the mat would interfere with situations like when a guy is stuck in the wall, too. | | Anson on WotC boards
