Although I am quite unhappy with the set overall, I do like the nods towards RPG provided by the Tavern Brawler, the Pirate and several of the very high quality PC minis (Count Dooku has done a nice thread on the latter).

The other aspect that has really impressed me is the emphasis on high quality Small minis. Reading the corrections to the set list given on this site, I think the smalls are:

6 R Meepo, Dragonlord
14 U Small Copper Dragon
32 U Dragonwrought Kobold
37 C Kobold Zombie
53 U Small Black Dragon
54 U Small Fire Elemental
58 C Twig Blight
59 C Whitespawn Hordeling

(Plus the Tiny: 56 U Stirge!)

While there could have been a little more variety (something instead of either Meepo or the Dragonwrought Kobold, and possibly only one small dragon), these seem very impressive to me. Indeed, I'd say this is the best lot of small minis in any set so far.

There was a poll a while ago (http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18728), and small true dragon came 8th, small elementals 11th, and small undead 12th. I think the Count missed the poll, so the Twig Blight didn't feature [)] - but I think it's a useful mini to have. (The dire rat - a request for a new one - also appeared in the poll, at 13th place, but this new one seems to be a medium?..)

Congrats to WotC for the high quality of the Smalls!

The smalls are indeed a good lot this time. The fire elemental looks nice. Meepo is quirky and a fanboy favorite. Small dragons are always nice to have and the whitespawn looks pretty cool too.

Is anyone going to be afraid of a kobold zombie though? [:p] I wonder if it'll just be a plain zombie of if they're give it some kind of unique skirmish ability (probably not).
