I thought that the Limited Qualifiers were only at Gen Con and then a grinder type event at Gen Con So Cal.

I thought I heard the guys at the NJ store though say that they were going to be hosting a Limited Qualifiers sometime in August or September.

Does anyone know about this? Are the same stores that got Qualifiers going to be hosting Limited Qualifiers as well?

Last year there was a series of local Limited Qualifers in September and October. I don't know for sure that they were all stores that hosted Constructed qualifiers, nor that all stores that hosted Constructed qualifiers got a Limited one. However, or local store, TJ Collectibles, got both qualifiers, so there si some precedent.

Great. Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that they had more than just the 2 Gen Con qualifiers last year. I was pretty surprised when I heard the guy at the NJ store say that.

I was curious because if they know in NJ about it and I haven't heard about it from my store in Syracuse NY then it sounds like we didn't get it.

I suspect that we might have a 3rd soon as well. There has been talk of an Epic championship as well (either at Gen Con, or perhaps at Winter Fantasy).

Makes sense to have it at WF. That way there are distinct seasons for all of the formats preparation. Certain stars of the game will want to compete in all available formats and the skill would be eroded iw they had to prepare for multiple formats at once.

WF also makes sense as it (iirc) coincides with the release of a new set. What better way is there to challenge limited players than at a "Pre-Prerelease" limited event.

The only problem with WF as a premier championship event is that the qualifier seaso would presumably conclude 30 days prior to the event, and last about 45 days. i.e. end of november, and all of december... They won't be well attended.
