CE Magma Hurler 33pts
Lvl: 4
Spd: 8
AC : 15
HP : 60
Melee Attk: +11(15)
Range Attk: +13(15 +15 fire)
Type: Elemental
Special Abilities
Requires Commander
Double Damage from Cold
Immune Cold
Immune Fire
Slow Range Attk

That's the Magma Hurler's stats when in CG with the Bonded Summoner. The Immune to Cold is a CFX so only 6 squares away but the other stuff should be all the time (or at least while BS is active).

Let's get this thread back on track and discuss the stats we have please. I am liking this set a lot and the future of the game.

I see a lot of reasons to include the Couatl and/or use the Shrine map.

Please be careful what you joke with, some things could be sensitive for some people.

Strikes me that there are a lot of figures in the 30s range of point cost.

And it kind of bums me that the Dire rat appears to be a good skirmish piece. Probably makes it a bit more expensive to get loads for RPG. (hey, a man needs to whine! [)])

And while we are pretty sure WotC would rather we didn't, we (and likely Kissmykiester), are curious as to whether or not releasing all that we know is actually permissable.

I don't see any extra description text for the "Bull Strength" on the War Weaver like we got from the Earth Shugenja. I wonder if Bull Str is limited to only being cast on 16pt pieces or was that just a limitation for the earth shu? If it isn't a limitation anymore, I wounder what becomes a little more viable. How about Ulmo Light Bringer, or raising the loyal earth elementals? There's the obvious 4 Sacred Watchers at once, is it worth 33pts to be able to get them at +11 with a magic weapon spell and then raise them to 15 damage (+5) next turn? A young master and 3 Gith monks, or 3 Justice Archons? I think a Marut is already doing enough damage but maybe a Large Silver Dragaon doing 20/15/15 with +18/+13/+13 (God forbid something that's costed at 122pts doing 50 pts of damage in a turn.

Tordek I like, finally a dwarf beater you actually want to use. I'm glad I just got my Aspect of Moradin, too. I could also see some builds using the Battle Plate Marshal and a few Slaughter Stones with him.

...The Cadaver Collector is horrid. Its like a damned Marut on crack. Twice the damage at a higher attack bonus, more HP and even a bloody paralysis cone. I used to hope that LE would get Snakes Swiftness and maybe a Bodyguard unit too, but the Cadaver Collector changes that. I am really starting to hate constructs. [xx(]

Large Fang Dragon is promising. A dragon that might actually be worth using. It's a bit low on the attack modifiers, but the sheer damage output is has is nice. Cant argue with potential 60 damage to living targets. Too bad the meta is both high AC and undead/construct heavy... And werent all the Large Dragons supposed to have one passive ability that covers the whole warband?

Meepo is interesting, but I doubt it will see that much play unless Dragons start to dominate the meta. Morale bonuses to LG is cute and all, but the faction really doesnt need it that much. I'd rather see this guy in CG. The morale boost would be nice.

Magma Hurler has a nice ranged damage potential, but level 4 on a non-Fearless frame? No thank you. The only factions able to use this guy have bad morale saves to begin with. I wont be using this guy with the Bonded Summoner, thats for sure.

Slaughterstone Eviseractor is a nice LG beater. Only complaint I have is that it requires a Dwarf Commander. I was hoping I could use it with the Half-Orc Paladin for some nice damage bonuses. At least I get something like that with the Battle Plate Marshal.

Ogre Skirmisher is a pretty decent 40-ish point CE beater. Hit-and-run for some very nice damage, reasonable attack bonus and a decent save. I can certainly see myself using this, since I dont have any Ogre Ravagers or Orc Champs.

Spellscale Sorcerer is nice as well. To me it feels like a Wand Expert got squished nto Aramil, and this is what is the result. Just the right amount of useful spells for one skirmish and countersong will drive some warbands insane. (2 less Snakes Swiftess for Marut)

Azer Fighter is nothing to write home about. Its a common after all. The damage potential is cute, but its slow and has otherwise pretty average stats for boths its factions. It could see some use with CoDA, though. AC 23 is pretty respectable.

I find Storm Archer bit unimpressive as well. Nice damage for a ranged unit and all. But its still screwed if anything like a Duergar Champ bases it, plus it has a horrid save. With the right commander it might be worth it, or if used as a support unit to real beaters.

Small Black Dragon is a good VP grapper and a nice fodder/tech hunter. Solid stats for its points, so I could see it being used in some warbands. Not much else to say about it.

Blue Dracolich has some nasty attacks, but is lacking on the HP department and AC 24 is very unimpressive for that point cost. Hell, I'd rather use two Cadaver Collectors + tech for the points...

War Weaver is interesting. I'm glad to have a new source of SS for LG. Couatl is getting hard to get these days. Not to mention the Dimension Hope is nice for titan units. Kind of reminds me of a mini Grant Move Action. And the ability to buff up to 4 units at the same time is very interesting. Arcanix Guard might be interesting with this one.

Clawfoot Raider is nice. Great save for an CG beater unit, good speed, reasonable damage output and the Mounted Ranged Attack is great. Melee abilities arent that bad after a MW either. Only problem I see is the competition. I'd still rather use a Wemic or FB for around the same cost.

Redspawn Firebelcher. Another CE 40p beater. And this one is even more interesting than the previous one. Speed, Level, AC and HP are all respectable and the damage potential is nice. But what I really find interesting is the Firebelch, if the stats are correct, it doesnt have a save! And Tiamats Blessing is interesting too. If all the Spawn have a similar ability, the Red Talon of Tiamat might be a very respectable commander if you use enough Spawn.

Hopefully the epic version won't have this limitation (similar to the Iron Golem), so that it's at least partially playable in sealed.

Might be able to play him. Check the preview

For 200-point play, the Slaughterstone Eviscerator has a home in dwarf bands, especially since it requires a dwarf commander (unless you're playing a Limited game).
This could be contstrued as meaning only working sans commander in 200 limited, but I'm pretty sure the author meant limited in general.

Get home from work and find a nice little surprise, thanks Kissmykiester.

Every set they have new abilities but it looks like they may have pulled out the stops on this one.

corpse collecting
explosive strikes
dragon lord
mob morale
counterspell
distracting presence
Eldrich tapestry
woodlands stride
tiamats blessing

some of these are just different versions of already exsisting abilities but it still a lot of new stuff for one set.... not that i'm complaining I like new stuff it make things a bit more interesting.

Edit to get rid of blood drain, forgot about fiendish dire weasel which is strange since fiendish dire weasel is such a fun name to say. [:)]

Type: Humanoid - Human
Special Abilities
Eldritch Tapestry (when casting a touch spell, this

This mini is insanely good. He can effectively SS 3 allies for 2 turns. I can see this piece almost becoming broken. In fact, LG will have a lot more competitive warbands built around this mini.

And dimension hop looks useful too.

So much for earth shujena !!

Only if there's a rule change -- as it stands, Woodland Stride doesn't help in forest terrain.

Well, I see a rule change coming up then. Adding an ability that doesn't currently work wouldn't make much sense.

The new ability states terrian on maps which the old didnt (was tiles of course). Hopefully it will change it for woadwode.

After close wounds I thought we would see more and more 'immediate actions'

Drat.

Now you might be able to cancel an immediate action with another ):

I don't much like abilities going off at all times.. I like a neat orderly round.

The rest of abilities look game breaking to start with... but dont they always :p

It would seem that the Large Fang Dragon isn't spiffy enough to get an all-warband effect. Serves him right for having his head pointing up rather than down [:D]

I'm glad it doesn't. I think "Warband abilities" on dragons is a pointless thing to add. It keeps making them more expensive and they still suck in combat. Where are the "great improvements" we were promised? The cost offsets are still being neutered by all the addons.
