In order to facilitate practicing for the Dreamblade Sealed 20k Opener I put together a virtual sealed generator (http://mega.cephalo.us/db_sealed.php). The methodology I used was just randomly selecting minis of the correct rarity and allowing duplicates, which means you could concievably end up with 16 of the same common fig. However it's been suggested that that's not how boosters and starters are put together, at least not with DDM. How much is know about how DDM boosters and starters are put together? Is there a thread someone could point me to?

The first question would be do they ever contain duplicates? I have a ton of DDM and I don't specifically remember getting duplicate figures in the same booster, but then I wasn't really paying attention.

It's also been suggested that the four commons in every booster would each come from a different common "slot". With each slot representing a low, bottom middle, top middle, and high spawn cost respectively. Do DDM boosters have slots? (Another thing I failed to notice when I was opening my own DDM boosters, since I only use them for RP).

Any help would be appreciated.

DDM boosters do not contain duplicate minis (at least not on purpose).

The distribution varies, generally speaking. For instance, in War Drums, there were 4 slots of 4 Commons and 3 slots of 7 Uncommons; each slot was populated with creatures of similar Skirmish power. For instance, one of the Uncommon slots was a dedicated Commander slot, and one Common slot was devoted to "powerful" commons. This was not always the case. For example, Angelfire had a dedicated Large Uncommon slot, even though Large Uncommons greatly varied by power.

War of the Dragon Queen has 2 slots of 7 Commons and 2 slots of 8 Uncommons. It is currently unknown how they plan to avoid having duplicate Commons in a booster.

No. No duplicates in a booster. In a case yes. Although Rares in some sets were supposed to not have duplicates per case.

Essentially yes, there are groupings. There might be 4 in each group, and 3 groups of commons (for instance) in a set. So 1 group might have; Hill Dwarf Warrior, Elf Warrior, Kobold Champion and Ibixian (just an example). So, you will never get two from that group in one booster.

The thing is that, distribution changes on DDM from set to set as they try new things.
