| I was about to argue that this was the crappiest rare ever in a similar thread, but then realized this guy was uncommon... blind rage an all that.
So, yeh, this guy suxxors. 2 spells, range 6. A bunch of poor abilities (except immune cold). Do fire guys really need speed +2? Really? Your Huge Fire Elemental not routing fast enough at speed 10?!? Commander 2? Immune Poison? wtf? why?
Not even unlimited scorching rays, apparently too busy figuring out ways to become immune to poison to memorize something less obvious!
I hate this guy skirmish-wise.
Sculpt is nice though. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. Called Shots: Frost Giant in Dangerous Delves.

| Oh, yeah. The sculpt is fantastic, I'll probably want to repaint one in my custom colors sometime. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the rest of the points. 43 points for a Commander 2 is OBJECTION!able by any standard. Especially when it doesn't really offer anything else all that spiffy for your warband.
I'm still debating over which piece's existence in CG offends me more; the Bonded Fire Summoner, or the Goliath Cleric of Suckslotski. | | - Irrationally Fanatical Champion of Pegasus-mounted cavalry - Proud member of Team Low Tier Beasting: I play CG as my main faction! - Garland, TX 2006 Qualifier Champion My trading thread: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19725

| The fact that you don't like the Bonded Summoner does not immediately qualify it as the worst uncommon ever.
If your standards are the sculpt, then look over all the uncommons one at a time before you claim this is the worst ever.
If your standards are the skirmish stats, then I also suggest you review the many uncommons that have preceded it. There are many uncommons that have been made that have worse stats. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse

| | I'm happy for him because of RPG, definetely a nice addition in that respect. In Skirmish, eh we already know we are going to get lots of sucky peices, and only a few good ones. It always happens... | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka | |

Perhaps you're taking me too literal about the "ever" part. Let's just say I was very disappointed with it skirmish-wise.
I guess I'm just too baffled by this, what I would consider, a flop.
And I specified that the skirmish side was what was bothering me and that the sculpt was nice. It is a nice addition for rpg, and sadly that's all (fun games not included, void and null in the state of alaska, may cause burning and irritable eyelashes). | An extra 6 small fire elementals isn't that bad [)]
Not the worst uncommon skirmish-wise by a long shot. Likewise, not the best by a long shot, either.
I want a bunch of these for repainting. Excellent sculpt. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References

| It'll be great for RPG, but not one I want a lot of. I'm getting chock full (sick of many) of humanoids, so I rarely enter "must hoard" mode.
As for the skirmish side, I honestly think it's time R&d stopped "messing around" with stats and make more of the minis skirmish viable. While I am not a skirmisher, it would only HELP the game and its total sales. As it is, the RPG side of DDM collectors are the only ones keeping some of these minis on the "desirability" radar. | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! | It's indeed great for RPG, but they could've made him a rare for my part. Won't need many of this one, but at least one or two!

| | i could be totally wrong, but i think he'd be fun in casual skirmishes in a theme-warband sorta way. kinda seems like thats what he's there for. he can't even be used with the huge fire elemental in 200pts anyway, and if playing him in 500pts, i hope the cmommander 2 can be by-passed by another figure with a higher commander rating. but random ramblings. | | | |

| Bonded Fire Summoner - he's a big MEH skirmish wise IMO.
But I'll agree that's he's a great sculpt! Definately worth a repaint.

| The bonded Summoner has a ton of potential that may not ever be realized, but don't throw his name out so casually. All you need is...
1. a very efficient fire elemental (the complement to the Chraal, for example) being created. You can even make it speed 4- this guy will make it worthwhile.
or
2. A change in the summoning rules, or an extremely efficient 25 point elemental.
... And this guy suddenly has real potential. | | References: http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7231

| | In the 8 activation era, 6 bonus activations is a huge benefit. This is not a tier 1 piece, but it is a solid (and fun) tier 2 piece in constructed. There was no way to make him truly tier 1 given the prese3nce of the couatl, so I'll just enjoy him for what he is... I've already got a warband in mind for him which used my 2 harbinger large fire elementals... Way overpriced, but so much fun... | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. | The Bonded Summoner is definitely not the crappiest uncommon ever. There is no question it could have been better (a single fireball would really have been nice) but I'd say it is the best summoner currently in the game. It may cost 4 more than the Evermeet Wizard for 6 summoned creatures but its creatures are stronger and will benefit for the Summoner's other effects. It also allows recreational players a good piece to use the Large Fire Elemental with.
My vote for Crappiest Uncommon ever goes to the Gnoll. It gets upstaged by a common in its own set and then gets resculpted and demoted to common itself.

You mean the original one? Yeah that was sucky, but it only cost 3pts.
