I'm definitly very happy with this set, as happy as I have been with any other set so far. I am very happy with the huge figures and can't wait to get my hands on the ones I haven't gotten yet.

Keep up the great work. [:)]

I like it. I got my first boxes for our sealed league last night, and I pulled Tiamat, purple worm, Tordek and a spellscale sorcerer. By all accounts a pretty fantastic pull. I knew I really liked the set when I looked around the room and was jealous of quite a few of the other pulls for the league.

Hello,

I love this set for the sculpts and paints. Also, the colours and poses are more vibrant and dynamic than the previous one.

All in all, a pretty good set.

The sculpts are looking nicer and it is nice that we are getting away from some of the sterotyped class minis. Bonded fire summoner was a good example. The clear plastic is very nice when used in moderation as it was with WotDQ.

My only complaint is the set list. I am all for experimentation with new monsters, new races, and some mounted minis. I just wish we could keep the experiments at around a third of the set. It's no fun when I have to struggle to find a use for over half the figures in the set.

I really like the choices for most of the figures. It's great that they're finally making minis desireable in numbers as commons and uncommons. The rares are figures you'd want 1 or 2 of. That's exactly how it should be. Great job Shoe and company.

What he said. From what I've seen, I really like the whole of the set: the sculpts, the stats, the paint jobs. Unlike most, I like the rarity and figure selection (although switching the Witchknife and Stirge rarities would have made those even better). As far as the paint jobs go, what was broke in War Drums seems to be fixed.

To the list with you!

So far I've opened one case. I LOVE the sculpts and paint jobs on the commons and uncommons. It's amazing that all the commons I've seen so far look so great! I'm really psyched about that. For example, the chainmail on the aasimar fighter looks so real! He's subtlely painted but looks very realistic and the sculpt is great. But I could say similar things about all the other commons. And a lot of the uncommons are even more outstanding, like the poison dusk lizardfolk!

The paint job on some of the rares leaves me looking at them a couple times trying to find something more that I'm missing. For example, the large green dragon just doesn't live up to any of the other large dragons except maybe the silver dragon which wasn't particularly detailed. Somehow it just seems like plain green over plain blackish green - there's not the subtlety in the paint job that I've come to expect from dragons such as the large copper dragon or the large blue dragon. I should pull out the large red and compare them side by side but I think it's got a little more going for it as well. But that's OK. It may simply be that the official description of what a green dragon looks like is harder to make into an interesting paint job than those others.

The dracolich is awesome. The mounted black dragon is pretty cool, though I do wish that there were replacable riders.

My overall impression is that the amount of time and money that WoTC has spent on the paint jobs and sculpts has gone way up and it shows. If I had a choice between great rares and great commons I'd choose commons any day. I just wish the stirge was common! :)
