Ok, so the gallery is up, cool things. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ag/20060710a&page=1

One thing that caught my attention (since I do nto own the book...yet) the wrackspawn art they have in there...How much of a difference when Baxa is not involved [:p] I could've live with that as a mini.

Why are Gnolls, Drow, Orcs and other common, previously published MM1 monster in it?

Maybe they are updated somehow.

There is a Yuggoloth on the last page of illustrations. Bloodwar baby! Nice picture but nothing like the Yuggo's I've been used to for years.

Theres a Thread below called "Attack of the WTF!" and also its being discussed in the RPG section.

Ill give my opinion again in the name of post-padding :)

The Wrackspawn mini is better.

The Wrackspawn had a couple of qualities that made it strange and semi-cool.
- Lack of eyes is creepy.
- The double-arm
- The fact that one of its legs ends in an arm.

These features made the Wrackspawn appear to be something that was twisted and deformed.

The picture in the MM4 however has eyes and only two arms.
It looks like nothing but a booring naked undead.

There was also a thread over a month ago where the Table of Contents in MM4 was released. I was surprised to see an average of 3 whole pages per monster. And about a third of the book is Ogres, Gnolls, Githyanki, Orcs, Yaun-ti and other MM1 creatures expanded to incluse more info and statted-out versions of these creatures with character classes and templates.

I really like the serious detail given on each creature...But Im really not happy on 5 pages on Drow, 5 Pages on Gnolls ect.
I dunno how great this book will be.

The Wrackspawn mini should be immune to sneak attack/criticals due to a lack of easily identifiable anatomy (all the parts are a bit shuffled).

The Wrackspawn in this picture should be affected by sneak attack/criticals since its anatomy is pretty standard.

I'm with Dooku. I prefer the mini (although the pose in this picture is far more dynamic).

Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie?
