While I have access on my home machine, it is getting dated (Access 2000), and I know that it won't work forever. I'm unlikely to buy my self a new version, so I'm very happy to see this development work move forward!

Thanks all!

Thanks Pat - not that Bifur no longer works with Access 2000 though [:)]. I hope that doesn't muck you up. The freestanding version installs a 2003 Runtime version that'll fix that issue though.

One of these days WoTC will update their tournament page when I'm in the top 5... they never seem to do when I'm in that bracket :(

You think you got it bad Pat, I'm still running access97 on my home pc. The freestanding version is very welcome to me. [:D]

When I launch it, it opens (after several warnings about "unsafe references") and hangs. Eventually I get the message "Your Bifur Warband Editor, Advanced database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file 'COMCTL32.OCX' version 1.3. * To ensure that your database or project works properly, you must fix this reference."

I just downloaded the normal 3.10.2 and I'm getting this same error except it does open and seems to work okay. Also got it with 3.10.1 and the install version. Using Access 2002. I've never had any problems with earlier versions. I've downloaded the install 3.10.2 and get the same error and again it seems to work but it VERY sluggish. When you select most anything it takes 3 seconds or so to process what I've done. When I initially add creatures it can take up to 12 seconds to add them but seems to work faster after that. In fact it seems like everything when you first select it takes a while to work then goes faster afterwards.

That's very strange... not seen that. The ADE seems to be causing some issues. Since you're using Access 2002 can you download the MDB file and get that working by itself?

Yes, the MDB file version seems to work okay even though I get that error. The install version is just wonky for whatever reason. It worked great on my friend's computer that I put it on a few days ago without errors. Technically my box is faster and more powerful so I know it's not anything to do with the hardware. I don't necessarily need to use the install version but why I'd get that error is unknown to me.

I'll keep this information on file - but it's strange. The tool is a Microsoft tool... but... that's maybe the issue

I hope the other one you are referring to is not the KB Warband Generator. KB is certainly nothing to turn your nose up at...in fact some of the features of bifur, like importing have/want list and pricing, were available on the KB generator first [:)]

Though Bifur is my most used tool, I really like KBales generator as well, espically role play stats and other features, including being able to export to my PDA.

Congrats on getting the $$ and willingless for a non access version of Bifur.
