| Has everyone seen the Bloodwar booster art already?
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dndmin/950530000
Looks like some kind of Angel, another Yuan-Ti and another dragon with rider. Maybe a red dragon with rider?
As others noted it looks like a Solar, Marilith, Githyanki riding a Red Dragon | | 270+ Trades Completed (194 maxminis | 50 wizards | 29 hordelings) References: http://www.maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/view/topic/forumid/53/postid/435268/Default.aspx H/W List: http://www.maxminis.com/hwlist.asp?user=gausse Bad Trades: Chaotic Good (Strongbow Lone Eagle), dndonuts, Allard, ScottWallace Email: gausse2@yahoo.com

There is no question. That is the maralith.
Also, seconded. That is a Githyanki on a dragon of some sort.

| Wow, I hope that is a solar angel. Aren't planetar's green...or is that just the trumpet archon. Ugh, hard to keep them all straight.
I think it's definitely the solar angel I've been calling on for some time. The eyes are what make me think solar, b/c I seem to recall the artwork in the MM with the solar angel having 'flared' eyes.

OK, we have a Large Red We have two Githyankis
How can you still hate one mounted on the other now that we already have it's two parts [:P]
I understand your resentment of say Blackguard on Nightmare because you would rather have just a Nightmare and tell your players it has a rider if that's the case. But why the hatred for a Githyanki Dragon Rider?

| Oh I just realized that the Githyanki on Red Dragon (and that's a good guess on the name after the figures in WotDQ) should have been in WotDQ. We usually get around 4-5 figures that fit the previous set's theme, so this seems to definately be one of them.

| Wow that's great news. I love all three.
The first looks like a Solar to me. It's about time: 11 sets before we get our first MMI Angel. Excellent.
Further confirmation of the Marilith is welcome news. I'm very interested to see how they painted/sculpted this figure.
Githyanki on Large Red Dragon? Frick'n awesome I say. We've needed another githyanki for a while now. This is a prefect choice, especially for a long time collector like me.

Very very true. Since I have a Githyanki and a Large Red Dragon..This mini doesnt hurt as much as the Nightmare and the Huge Black Dragon.
But its still wasted potential. I see it as one of the 60 minis in the set being flushed. You know the whole "wasted slot" thing. :) | | Champion of the Skulk Vindicated Champion of the Twig Blight

The silvery one in the back is a solar, so I'd say that's a lock.

I would agree, but your standard Planetar doesn't have a bow, while the solar does.
Hey! I think it's about time for some made-up stats for the new guys! Here's a super-simple conversion. I would be that at least one of these is a commander, or has some other cool skirmish ability:
Solar (EPIC) LG Medium Rare Cost: 300? pts Lvl: 12 Spd: F12 AC : 29 HP : 210 Melee Attk: +35/+30/+25 (30 magic) Range Attk: +28/+23 (15 magic + Slaying Arrow) Type: Outsider - Angel Special Abilities: - Aura of Protection from Evil (This Creature and adjacent allies get +2 AC against evil creatures) - Blindsight - DR/10 - Flight - Immune Acid, Cold - Melee Reach 2 - Regeneration 10 - Resist 10 Electricity, Fire - SR - Slaying Arrow [?] (destroy target creature, DC 20) - Yeah, and they might have some spells too (probably at least dimension door)
Who knows what the normal version might be like. Maybe it'll finally be the 30-point LG beater. Okay, not very likely if it has a fly speed and a bow. Probably it'll be somewhat similar to the non-epic Justicator.
Marilith (EPIC) CE Large Rare Cost: 220? pts Lvl: 10 Spd: 8 AC : 24 HP : 215 Melee Attk: +20/+20/+15 (20 magic) Type: Outsider - Demon Special Abilities: - DR/5 - SR - Dual Activation - Immune Electricity, Poison - Resist 10 Acid, Cold, Fire - Blindsight - Tail Slap (1 melee attack per phase; a hit deals normal damage + Constrict) - Constrict (creature skips next turn, DC 19) - Melee Reach 2
The Marilith is very likely also a commander, IMHO. The normal version I would guess will just be a scaled down version, doing 10 or 15 per attack, with lower attack bonuses, AC and HP.
No real clue what the Gith on Red Dragon might be like, but here's a stab in the dark:
Githyanki on Red Dragon CE Large Rare Cost: 55-80 pts Lvl: 9 Spd: F8 AC : 18 HP : 95 Melee Attk: +12/+7 (20) Type: Mounted Outsider - Dragon Special Abilities: - Flight - Conceal 6 - Mounted Melee Attack - Immune Fire - Double Damage from Cold - Breath Weapon [] (replaces attacks; cone; 20 fire damage, DC 18) | | Champion of the Rakshasa. | | Definitely good find, and welcome news! The Gith on LRD (or GoLRD- my name I called it! [:P]) looks cool, but is the least useful of the three. As I hardly ever use either Gith race, do they tend to ride dragons out in their planar homes? It doesn't seem right. I guess Githyanki seem more likely to ride a dragon than Githzerai to me though. | | Completed trades: Gausse, Mazra, Pagansexy, Galerians, Lord_Raven, Drakkengi, Temujinn x2, Random Sasquatch, elf_ranger, Azuretide, Hung4treason, Griffrat (face2face), Nasamonkey Carpe Forum!

Just kidding. As much as I loathe the human look and highly prefer the snake-like look, I can live with it if the skirmish stats intrigue me.
As for the other two, if I get the Solar, I'll likely trade it away unless, again, it has impressive skirmish stats. Other than that it looks like it will be okay when the mini pictures are shown but it just simply is not my cup of tea. And the Githyanki on Red Dragon, don't even get me started on that one! | Well, we already have red dragons ad naseum and two githyanki so the githyanki on red dragon won't be bad unless its one of four or five more mounted minis in the set.
Looking at the art, that definitely looks like a solar to me. You 3e players are going to have to help me out. How bad did the solar get nerfed for 3e? The 1e version was an unstoppable evil killing machine. Asmodeus wasn't even close to being a match for one. Even an epic 500 point version would have to be nerfed into an unrecognizable form.
Thank God the marilith is back in the proper form. That lame, non-threatening, 6 armed ophidean from the 3e Monster Manual is hopefully gone forever.
Was anyone else here extremely dissappointed in the art for War of the Dragon Queen. Not only did the nightmare box art not have any rares, it was easily the worst art ever to appear in DDM. Many of the cards were amatuerish at best.

| Its nice to see that the maarlith continues her tradition of selecting "Boob Coverage" as her 1st feat. Wonder if the mini will reflect that too lol.
All 3 have good potential. Githyanki have traditionally ridden large red dragons.
While I appreciate the fact that most of the rares in WoDQ were figures I only want one of, I dont appreciater the fact that many (7 or 8) of them were bland humanoids that could have easily been uncommons. If I'm going to try and track down a rare, at least make it an interesting figure that wouldnt be feasible as an uncommon. Blood wars might get us back to that. Just because I dont want 1-8 celestial butter churners doesnt mean I want to see it in my rare slot either... | | Completed trades: Zarnof, Salmander, Pigsnot, qillan_dvra, SilgentG, Ironfist Boulderbender, robdaman.
