So come on Githanki-hating Valued Trading Partners!

The only reason you're the one who would get any "GORDs" from me if I even draw them in the first place is because of the Red Dragon, not the Githyanki. I am indifferent to the Githyanki. Although, between the time I draw any and the time I package them up to send away as part of a trade, I'll amuse myself with the thought that the Red was forced to be a beast of burden and it feels worse than a White chained up in a dungeon by Frost Giants. | I'm very impressed with the art. I'll admit that I'm not quite as enthused as everyone else, but I might get there in time.
And I'll be one to say that I'm not exactly excited by the Githwhatzit on Red Dragon. I'm not anticipating it because we're still "missing" our Large White and Large Black Dragons!
Yeah, yeah. I know: "...string you along...continued development for DDM...can't release them all..." Whatever. I need my LBkD and the Large White would be good, too.

Although I don't agree with the following, some might say we already technically have our Large White and at this point in time we'll probably have to wait about 3 or more sets after Blood Wars to see it. As for the Black, HEAR HEAR!

| | Marilith is excellent. Solar or planetar is good. Red dragon with gythyanki is not good, but it's not as bad as the sorcerer on huge black dragon, because at least we already have a large red dragon and a githyanki mini, so it doesn't hurt as much (I agree with Count Dooku on this). | | | |

Two Mariliths will be hard enough to track down without spending a fortune. Unless this set list wows the pants off me -- I have some serious doubts, based on all the past lists -- then, I'm out of case buying again, probably permanently.
As for the Githyanki on Red Dragon, don't bet on an arm wrestle. There's a dragon attached to these, all bets are off! | | Trade & talk in real time on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis SOFTWARE: PC | PC (free) | MAC

The only mounted mini I could support would be a Githzerai on a Chaos Dragon. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, it is briefly mentioned in the Chaos Dragon information section of the Draconomicon. Other than this concept for a mini, all other mounted minis are unappealing but skirmish stats can be very tempting(it is how I forgave the SoB issue). | | Champion of the Prismatic Golem

The booster art isn't very clear, but the picture has a nose that looks very much like a red dragon's and three chin spikes, exactly like the picture in the monster manual. The chaos dragon doesn't have features like that. Also, it appears to be breathing fire.

Because Githyanki ride on red dragons. Its as iconic and halflings on Riding Dogs, Duergar or Steeders and Drow on RIding Lizards. So wether the pic is clear or not...Its just gotta be a red. | Aravis... your GoRD is clearly better than a regular LRD, and doesn't cost much more...
I believe that there is powercreep, but it can't be that obvious. It'll probably be costed at least at 95-105 if it had those stats.
It's not as strong as LSD... but it's not weak against cold, unlike the original LRD, so it's definitely not THAT much weaker.
I'm guessing that the Solar will be underwhelming and lose its regeneration. Regen 10 would be nice, but the RPG Marut had fast healing 10, and that doesn't show up on the DDM mini at all.
Looking at the Balor, the Solar will be missing most of its abilities, it's spells, come with a completely unrelated commander effect, and be an overcosted titan with a low damage output. (Heck, even the EPIC Balor is missing his SR...)
Let's all be pessimistic so that we wont be [inevitably] disappointed! [:p] | | | |

I don't really expect to see the Large Black anytime soon (early '08 hopefully--Maybe in '07 if there's another Dragon "themed" set and we don't get the remaining Spawn in one go [v]). But it would have been more welcome to me than the mounted Red.

| Great news about the Solar and Marilith! I'm looking forward to those.
I'm not impressed by the Githyanki on the Red Dragon. I know it's not as bad a problem as the sorceror on the huge black, but I still don't have much desire to shell out money for niche mounted minis. (I know there's a documented link, but I've never actually needed one and I don't see that changing.)As a singles buyer, I'll just avoid that one.

| Damn, I was really hoping that they'd do a Large Red Bloodscaled Berserker or something rather than give us a mounted red. For someone who got into minis considerably after Dragoneye, the LRD is impossible to get, and as a GM I'd use a dozen unmounted Reds before I'd use githyanki cavalry. Hope the rider is easily slice-offable.
