As Wizards have now managed to get clear plastic sorted, do you think they may be able to add bowstring onto archer minis? I mean, I can live with them as they are, but it'd be nice to see.

I wouldn't mind seeing the bowstring either. But, like you, I can live without it, especially if it would cost a lot more.

I hope they don't ..I really do not want them too over use the clear plastic...think mage knight (trust me its not a good thing). I'm not a fan of the clear plastic(yes the fire elemental came out nice)but leave it for ghosts and such not weapons and spells. But thats just my 2 copper pieces.

I'm certainly no expert, but I would imagine that would increase the mold price. I doubt will see it at all, but if on anything, maybe a rare.

The next set is already going up a couple bucks, I think they can afford to give us nicer minis.

I agree 100% with this.
The elementals turned out cool.
The Thunder-Bow and Tordek's Energy Axe looked stupid.

I guess you didn't like the Solonavi very much, right?? :-)

Back on track:
With clear plastic comes GELATINOUS CUBE and other oozes, IMHO.

You know when you are playing too much DDM when you read the Art of War and start wondering how that applies to DDM...

Aye, I bet pretty much everyone would like to see a clear plastic Gelatineous Cube with bits of previous victims armor and such inside it. Other oozes would be cool, too.

well, clear plastic bow-strings would be too brittle if they looked good and to thick if they are not to break. I say NO to bow-string. Anyone with some crazy glue and some thread can make their own good-looking bow string.

no, it only has a very thin bow that makes you think it is a string

Producing such a bowstring would be really hard to do without making it look thick and crappy. Depending on how they make the molds, it probably wouldn't involve too much extra work, but it could be difficult.

Two-color parts (clear and non-clear) are harder and more expensive to make than one-color parts. I don't want that extra cost for a tiny piece of plastic that, ideally, I wouldn't even notice.

Other disadvantages include the bowstring bending during the plastic cooling, and your archer ending up with a bowstring that has bent like all the other minis swords and scythes and axes and spears, etc.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the current two-color minis (storm archer, tordek) are entirely clear plastic with paint on them, and not two-color at all. Anyone want to cut a storm archer in half and see if it's black in the middle?
