So what are the promos going to be?
In true speculating form they might be: (based on the Gameday website that has six character sheets for download which specifies which mini to use for which pc) http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20050726x
Dwarf cleric (use Warpriest of Moradin) Elf Ranger (use Steelheart Archer) Elf Wizard (use Wood Elf Ranger) Halfling Rogue (use Halfling Slinger) Human Fighter (use Axe soldier) Human Paladin (use Arcanix Guard)
Six different promos might be a lot, but WotC seems to be putting a lot of effort into gameday.

| | I don't think it woud be that tough to have six different repaints. If they're running the campaigns, they know what needed to be done well in advance, so they had lots of time to prepare. | | "...for me to POOP on!!" -Triumph

| | Well they have numerous pieces to use for the adventure and all those mentioned are likely to be there for that purpose. I believe we'll still only get one actual promo mini. | | "I was sittin' here eatin' my muffin, drinkin' my coffee, replayin' the incident in my head, when I had what alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity." - Jules Winnfield Sales/Trades Bad (1): Ironfist Boulderbender Trades/Sales completed (8.): Danthl, Dafrca, Garyaxe, qillan_dvra, realmaster, Vandal_Savage, cavedweller, unearthed arcana. | Umm why use a ranger figure for a wizard? At least they don't have a kobold and gnome in the same party this time, that was just confusing for new players - "hey I get bonus to hit and damage on my teamate" And the Arcanix guard for paladin? (I guess they want to use minis from one set)
But my main question is where are the characters? They don't appear to be on the page anymore?

| | there was many error on the character sheets, most of them clearly due to a bad copy/paste job. Hope that they take back the sheets to correct them. | | http://joepatent.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=25 | |

| | I look forward to this, I have ran the Mad Alchemist's Lair the past two years for people who have never played before. (Did my heart good to see some young'uns come out) I look forward to running an intro adventure this year as well, this time with an adventure I built myself. | | "Only for the sake of the honor of mankind do I not tear off their necks as is done to slaughtered beasts." -- The Angel of Death | |

| Last year, the promo was Lolth's sting, which was a common from the set to come out between gameday and Christmas. I'd be very surprised if they didn't do exactly the same thing this year. So who's precient? It'll probably be something related to the gameday adventure "Curse of Gethin Abbey", so that excludes the Blood of Vol Cultist. I doubt it'll be one of the commanders we've already seen, or anything previously released as a promo. Of the ones we know about, that leaves the Kobold Monk, and that just doesn't seem right, either. So I'm left with guessing something else they might use. Since the encounter levels in the adventure are supposed about 5, and "terror stalks the shadowed halls and brooding chambers...", I'm guessing a new type of undead. Anything from MM4 catch anyone's eye?
