| | It is probably a Guardinal - there is a Leonal (lion), Ursinal (Bear), or Lupinal (Dog) - the awrroouuar probably references one of them. | | Member of Team Amish 3rd Place in 2007 Constructed World Championship My combined DDM Skirmish record of all games ever played in all formats. 486 - 188 - 4 | |

I don't know. Yes, the hints point toward it, but that doesn't draw on the PDMA. Also, those guardinals are all pretty bulky, and the silhouette is pretty slim.

As to the preview....not terribly thrilled with the Chasme. The sculpt looks nice, however, it has the unfortunate appearance of being completely unpainted. It might be painted, but the preview shot doesn't serve to highlight anything.
When I first saw the picture, I thought the mini was entirely black! I don't mind it weighing in as a rare, but from that angle it looks rather terrible.Â
Though I enjoyed the Planescape when it was released, the one element I never adopted for my home campaign was the idea of the Blood War. Demons and devils fighting it out . . . somehow it never clicked for me. They were always too busy fighting their own kind for control of their own planes to worry about some place several planes removed. At least when 3.X Edition came along, they reclaimed the names "demons" and "devils." (In fact, that may be the only thing I like about 3E . . .)
At any rate, let's hope the backside of that chasme looks better than the front. | | Lance Hawvermale -- Writer/Editor, Necromancer Games Completed Trades: 67 My Vision Quest: www.lancehawvermale.com

| Don't get too caught up in the filename and cursor messages for the silhouette. In the past, the hellcat had the filename "clydesdale", the soldier of Bytopia was "Glowworm", the orc wizard was "Bizhon frize" and so on. If you could figure out what minis those were from those names, then you're damn good. ;P
I like the Planescape Monstrous Compendium idea. Let's review what we have. It's almost certainly a humanoid, and almost certainly of good alignment. Creatures matching that in PMCAII are: Aasimar, Eladrin (Bralani, Firre, Noviere, Shiere and Tulani) and Guardinals (Avoral, Leonal, Equinal, Lupinal, Ursinal, Cervidal). Take your guesses, folks. | | My trading references: http://www.maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/forumid/53/postid/680508/view/topic/Default.aspx

| I'm wondering if the 'sound effect' is a reference to the ThunderCats...
meaning it's a Leonal. | | Champion of the Flumph!!!

See, and I'd rather have a Mummra. Or a Snarf. How cool would that be?

| Or maybe a Ma-Mutt? But no, neither he nor Mumm-Ra can be classified as "Good guys". Nor can venger, sadly. I demand venger!

| I really don't think its a Guardinal - it doesn't appear to be beastial enough. It looks to me like a humanoid wearing a cloak, unless it is wearing bell bottoms. Also, neither of the two MM Guardinals wield weapons, and instead fight with their natural weapons. (I'm not sure about any of the others, I haven't looked into them)
I think its possibly some sort of Genasai or Eladrin, maybe even an Aasimar. I haven't a clue what the hint suggests, though. | | Champion of the Revenant Knight of the Elf Duskblade Complete Trades: Oni, Kidkach, Melrune, callidusx3

| | I think we should keep different threads for both commenting our general impressions on the the present week preview and another one to speculating on the one for the futture week as we used to do. Some of us mayonly be interested in one of those topics and searching in the whole thread for it may sometimes result kind of annoying. | | Champion of the Molydeus Vindicated Blood War Called Shot: Cornugon (Horned Devil) Icons Called Shot: Tarrasque Vindicated Dungeon of Dread Called Shot: Mind Flayer Against the Giants Called Shot: Uncommon Fire Giant Demonweb Called Shot: Myrlochar Feywild Called Shot: Molydeus "Sé que me acusan de soberbia, y tal vez de misantropía, y tal vez de locura. | Bumping thread, any new ideas on this weeks silhouette?
I still think it will be a good-aligned Gith Pirate or something ridiculous like it.
