| WOW!
This will be the first Iconic dragon I buy due to the previously mentioned goofy standing poses. Now if they remade those after finishing out the chromatic dragons I would buy the resculpt if they did it right like this one. | | | |

| Well, I was hoping for something better. There is something goofy about the sculpt and the paintjob SUCKS. Just how much it's supposed to cost? I'm quitting DDM after next Icon like that.
I'm surprised noone said that yet. But honestly - this is a PERFECT Gargantuan Blue Dragon. It couldn't be done better. | | ~Polish~DDM~Elite~ ;-)

Cool.
I guess the next question is, with you knowing how some of us generally feel about the poses of the previous two icons, would we be happy with the latest one?

| | The Blue Dragons were always my favorites. It has never hurt that they've always had the best sculpts. I'm glad that we're finally getting a dragon sculpt better than the Large Blue's. I'm happier still that it's another Blue Dragon. This thing being a production model just makes me giddy. | | Where is the silver? Wait we still need a large white!!! There are so many more dragons that aren't in the 200 500 pt standard but they keep brining out more no playable pieces. I think it looks great, I own the other 2 and will buy this one but I can't use it. Guess I will have to paint it. | | Need Miniatures Painted? E-mail me at jeremiahschmidt2002@hotmail.com | |

| | So good to see a really bestial, menacing pose on a dragon. I'm noit knocking the other two but this dragon looks like it is in a fight rather than posing. Although the advantage of the standing pose is it does look more biiger/more intimadating when you put it down in front of the players. Still gargantuan blue looks good. | | | |

| I'm not sure how the price can be justified compared to the mcfarlane dragons. This one doesn't look much bigger than one of those, and the paint jobs one them always look more elaborate.
Ok, you get a poster and card with it, but still.
The only reason would seem to be Hasbro's ROI needs vs McFarlanes. I don't know why Mcfarlane doesn't get a clue and do 28mm scale giants or worms, or other D&Dish monsters. He should know he's sold extra dragons to RPGers

McFarlane Dragons are not D&D Dragons. They might proxy, but they lack the distinguishing features.

Just guessing the Blue may be a little bigger than the Black is and from the time I say the GBkD and Mcfarlane dragons side by side in a store I would have said the black was bigger.
For the technically challenged the WotC dragons don't require assembly either.
Based on Amazon pre-order prices the Blue will cost a little more than the Black did ($25 vs $19 or so) but then ALL the mini prices have increased since then.

I was about to say the same thing. This one was out of nowhere.
well, back on topic, we now have 3 massive dragons. What is everyone's favorite? Is the blue the best yet?

| | I think I like the blue over the black, just because of the pose and maybe because it is "newer"). | | Colossal Red Dragon wins running away. It would clearly be the first prize in a big tournament. The Gargantuan Blue and Gargantuan Black would go to the second and third place finishers, respectively. The two gargantuans still look like they're just game pieces, while people outside of DDM have bought the CRD to display as mantle-pieces. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| | This is the first iconic dragon that I've gotten - I don't see the expense being worth how often that I'll use it. I finally broke down and traded for the Gargantuan Blue because I think that this is the best iconic so far and the trade was good (for a Harbinger Centaur.) | I have 2 of each iconic, and just for decoration purposes alone, I think it's worth it.
Has anyone had any success either using them in RPG or DDM? I know I ran the Gargantuan Black at GenCon for 20th level characters, and it was a load of fun.
