| Just noted that both MM5 and "the sinister spire" adventure feature an Alhoon on the front cover.
I think we can now be certain that the picture from the WotC Catalogue is an Alhoon and not any other sort of mindflayer.

In others shot threads people who get a Critical miss keep it. But I would like to insist on that is what I believe. Anyone can help with this? | |

| Sorry, I didn't mean to go off like that. Bad day at work, and all that.
In the Unhallowed called shot, I got bumped when they restarted the thread. despite evidence of what i had picked. then my second choise also got bumped as well. So I'm a bit bitter. Which ever way it goes, I'm cool with it. I'm not mad or anything. I consider my Critical Miss a near Miss (I just had my ESP off by one set  )
So, whichever way it falls, I'm fine. Again, I apologize.

| Called shots are supposed to be called shots. If it's a miss, it's a miss. Frankly people shouldn't be able to change their guesses at all - otherwise what's the point. I'm with you on your initial instincts, despite not being a moderator.
For Teflon's situation though, it sucks that he got bumped twice. He's a special case, I'd accommodate him somehow.

I also don't expect that everyone wanting to play 'called shots' will fit the expected rules (dosn't happen for any other thread why this one )

| As the person managing the Unhallowed Called Shots list, I feel I need to chime in about Teflon Jeff's call that was bumped. I don't really like being told I screwed someone out of something, when I don't think I did. This is a game, and all for fun, but I try to be fair to everyone. This is what I wrote in that thread, when I looked up and migrated the calls from the previous thread:

Your pick didn't get bumped. I went through the old Official Unhallowed Called Shots and took all the picks from there. Arande picked Bodak on 6/23/2006 @ 4:27AM. You picked Bodak on 7/12/2006 @ 12:30AM. The list hadn't been updated by the OP since before his pick, which is why Arande's Bodak pick wasn't in the list. So, I gave the call to the first person who made it, as there were several picks that had the same problem that yours did. When doing the Unhallowed Called Shots, I let people who have either guessed right, or made a Critical Miss, make another selection at that point. So yes, it means some people have a chance to make multiple guesses, but only when their selection has been revealed, in either the set they guessed in, or another one. As long as they are not guessing something that has already been confirmed for that set, I have no problem with them changing their guess or making a new one, especially if their first guess has already been revealed.Â
That's just the way I did it, but as you are running this one, the choice is yours. | |

@Brimulk- I hereby formally apologize. I had not seen the previous post, and it appeared the list had been updated with later posts, but missed that one. So I must apologize.
Can we get one official called shots thread, then get it stickied until the set comes out? that would certainly make it easier.
BTW, you both have done a good job at running the threads.

| Jeff, it's all good.
I agree, it would be nice to just have one active called shot thread at one time. When I had Blood War and Unhallowed going, it was frustrating for people who called one thing in one thread, but couldn't call it in both. And we had a fair number of missed calls due to people guessing, say Pit Fiend, for Unhallowed, before the Bloor War previews started. As someone who enjoys speculation, I like the lists where people guess, but trying to manage lists for the next set, and the set after, can get tedious. I just don't know how you stop the community from having someone create the next list as soon as the next set is announced or discovered. We have been told they are going to announce the name of the set after Night Below at D&D XP, so it is likely someone will create the Called Shots thread for it shortly after. It could be created and locked until later, but someone else might just create it then. It's tricky that way. | |

| Well, like I said, it would be nice if the mods made one, and stickied it. they might not have to be in charge, but if there was a called shot thread at the top of the page, most people would see it. If that thread were closed with a note saying "Called shots will be opened on (prerelease date for previous set here)" then
that should clear up a lot of the confusion.

Hey i vindicated the Tsucora Quori Well, it should be a critical fumble instead as it appeared in Unhallowed. If you were vindicating it in that set, good for you. But it seems it will not appear in this set.

Deepspawn(If it's already called my bad!) Is it Large or Huge? If it is huge, it will not unlikely appear in the set. (I was thinking of calling it myself and leaving the Uncommon Fire Giant but was unsure on its size)
