I also saw there were some Archfiends boosters on sale on an eBay auction. I bid $50 for 4 of them, but got outbid immediately. I'm sure the ending price will be crazy.

Well if you're just going to grab them all before any of the rest of us get a chance don't bother telling us about them. end sarcasm.

Assuming they arrive I'm interested in what you find in them. The seller does have a decent feedback score so I'd presume it is legit. Of course I (and MANY others) have been burn by sellers with great feedback who appear to want out of eBay.

I noticed the same seller had Archfiends boosters also... somewhere like $49.99? Anyways, $5.99 was most likely meant to be $59.99. Still, you'd hope he'd honour the transaction anyways.

What is th difference between «entry pack» and «starter set» ??

in the list of similar product of that seller it have the two product and the «entry pack» seems to have only map, checklist, damage counters at 6.95 and the starter at 79.95. so could that be the explication why it is so cheap ???

A lot of people have sold the Harbinger starter w/o the minis or cards (i.e. map, tiles and book) for relatively cheap. I guess they could perhaps call it the entry pack.

The starter set is the entry pack, the starter has entry pack written on the bottom of the front.

It's not the list of similar product of that sellers you are looking at,It's a list of similar items from all ebay sellers. The ones you are refering to are from creep and he states that they contain no figures implicitly in the item discription. The ones we won state D&D Harbinger entry pack Sealed.

Dave, the Harbinger starter has "entry pack" written on the bottom of the front of the box. This auction states specifically that it's a Harbinger entry pack Sealed,I wouldn't have bid if it wasn't sealed and if they send anything other than factory sealed starters it's misreprentation of product. ~Rob

I agree,it's most likely the seller ment to put $59.99 instead of $5.99,however I'm pretty sure they are still required legally and by Ebay to complete the transaction.

Depending on the seller, things like this sometimes will drive them to a new ID. If they were a newbie with no experience in this field, then they probably were clueless about the market value (but would have been a ill informed seller), but since they are also offering the other products at "market" rates, that leads one to beleive it was a typo. There may be contractual language giving an out for "typos", just like bidders can retract bids (albeit only before the auction closes) and with this being a BIN offering not sure how the rules would apply. The money difference is pretty big for a dozen Entries. Over $50 a pop or $600 total, that would be enough for many sellers to go awol. Hope for the bargain, but expect the disappointment...

I jump on things like this when I get a chance. Sometimes they honor it other times like a recent auction they claimed the item was out of stock and refunded my money. I did not pursue it any further because I value my 100% EBay rating too much.

And there's the flaw in the ebay feedback system. Some sellers can use it for retaliatory negatives.

That is a big flaw. My one neg was a retailitory one from a bad seller. He had shipped me less than was indicated in his auction listing, was very rude during emails, so I left him a neutral before he left me any feedback, where upon he dropped a negative with blatant lies in it. I countered those claims, but between my feedback and a number of other unhappy buyers he soon took his rating to Private, since it was dropping like a stone and the last I saw it was in the 60's if you can beleive it.   A definite fix should be that anyone who takes their USID ratings to Private should negate all non-positive feedback they have given to anyone else. I was forced to go with the hold back feedback on sellers until they give it to me policy due to the unacceptable behavior of a deviant few.

Even if waiting to receive feedback before giving any is easier I'd agree that sellers should post feedback first. Perhaps even better would be setting feedback up as a blind system, both parties need to leave feedback before either side's gets counted or viewed. That should make both parties interested in staying truthful when leaving feedback.

I must say anyone with Private feedback on eBay is hard to trust. I know when checking feedback I always look at the neutral and negative and then check the other ends as well. It makes retailitory feedback relatively easy to spot so you don't put much stock in the negative feedback.

I agree there is definately a flaw in Ebay's feedback rating and I do the same as Zenako when i'm the buyer,I don't leave feedback untill I've received it,I don't use Ebay much however and only have an 8 feedback. This seller seems to have a pretty good rating at 99.8% positive, the 2 negs being a complaint about slightly high shipping rates from soneone having no clue about handling charges and the other one never received a cheap MTG card,so here's hoping.Honestly,If I was the seller and made a mistake on pricing I'd honor it even if it hurt me.The one time out of my 140 some trades that I made a mistake and traded away a Carrion Crawler that I thought I had extras of but didn't(it was Ochre Jellies I was thinking of I had extra), I told the other trader I would pull it out of my collection to complete the trade or I'd give them an Umber Hulk, which I did have extras for trade and they needed,instead...They chose the Umber Hulk and ended up with a much more valueable rare for my error and were happy...I took the loss fine and was much more carefull in the future about double checking my available tradebait, lesson learned.

Just got this message from the seller:

I am sorry, my employee put these up as the wrong items, I will be issuing a refund as I this was the wrong item, sorry.

That's too bad for myself and Wake. I'm going to email the seller and see if something can be worked out.

My one neg was a retailitory one from a bad seller. He had shipped me less than was indicated in his auction listing, was very rude during emails.

I was in the same exact situation. Only I filed a "partial" refund request with Ebay which the seller honored. So being the super duper nice guy that I am I left him a positive feedback for taking care of the situation even though he was a complete jerk in his emails. He returns the favor by leaving me a negative and lying in the feedback. He actually called me "greedy" for wanting the 500 trading cards his picture showed rather than the 48 cards he sent me. It's my only negative.

Nah,the seller was nice enough explaining the situation, that an employee had listed it wrong and apologized. They didn't lie about it,they told me in e-mail they did have Harbinger starters, they just cost alot more.It turns out She is a local gaming store owner and I know that's a tough buisness already so I'm not going to push it,like I would if the seller was rude or deceitful.

Ungghh. Didnt realise they even let you take feedback private. Thats a bad bad idea.

I hate how ebay stores will wait. I pay within minutes or hours of winning (normally). That is all I should need to do to get a positive rating.

I had the same kind of error on underdark cases when they were first starting to surface on ebay. I found an auction for 3 cases for a buy it now $25.00 each so I bought all three and I knew it was a mistake so I waited for the seller to contact me and I ended up filling out a on-line form for him so he could get his listing fee returned.

Thanks, realmaster. Let's split up!!!!!

What I dont get is how people mess up with ebay, its so easy.  Also I agree with everyone that taking feedback private is a dumb idea, maybe we could start an online petition for it or something.  We would be the founders of the ebay revolution.

One key to things and ultimate feedback is being polite and nice in your exchanges with sellers and buyers. A little sugar goes a long way. I have had a number of disputes over the years with various sellers and most of them have been resolved satisfactorily. I have one currently with one seller from Richmond VA who had been fine during the summer and before, but on some auctions I won in Aug/Sep failed to send/ship. I waited over a month for things to show up, giving benefit of the doubt to someone who had been reliable before. I then sent a polite inquiry about what the status was, and all I received back was a short profanitity laced message tell me to "**** off" and that it was all Bush's fault. I then tried to confirm that their message meant that they had no intention of shipping what I had won and paid for, and they did reply a few days later with another message saying much the same thing, and their USID was shortly inactive on EBAY. This seller was also using BIDPAY instead of PAYPAL and my results with them were not very good. Since the actual dollar values was under $20, at some point I just forget about it since life is too short to spend too much energy chasing these things on principle. I value my time more than that. (Not that PAYPAL is all that much better on solving disputes either..)
