| Greyhaze should have the concept art up on his site somewhere, I think, or at least he used to.
Strahd is sorta lunging forward from left to right, a wand held out behind him, his cloak billowing out behind as well. In the silhouette, he's facing toward the right.

| Posted By Username on 12/15/2006 6:21 AM Is that Strahd or a wizard of some sort? When the concept art was shown at GenCon, Shoe asked the crowd who it was. Someone said 'Strahd', and Shoe went on as if that was the right answer.
No one who knows has stated unequivocably that it's Strahd, to my knowledge. But I know that it is, and you know that it is, in fact we all know that it is. Any other knowledge is heretical and will not be tolerated. >
(BTW, this was the same concept art that started the 'Raistlin' rumors.)

This pretty much confirms it. Strahd concept art is identical with the silhouette, and I'm sure they did that one on purpose. | | Champion of the Sarrukh

| So if the Siihouette is Strahd who is his long time enemy? Did Strahd have an ongoing unique nemesiis? Or is it a Vampire vs. Werewolf thiing? MY guess is the later, and the secon mini will be a Wearwolf of some kind.
Then again the answer could be both A&B as i have not read the books.

The actual text is:Next week, we'll look at a pair of old foes, one of whom is nearly pictured here.
That could mean two foes fighting each other (Strahd and Azalin) or it could refer to two foes for someone to fight. In other words the text doesn't necessarily indicate that it's another character associated with Strahd. It definately could mean that, and it's quite possible that it does since the Ravenloft adventure was released.
Just putting that out there as a different way of looking at next weeks clue. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre

Indeed, it does look like Strahd (or at least the images match almost exactly).Â
If its not him, then I'm hoping for a new Wraith, or even Azalin would be super cool.Â

| | It would be neat to see even a generic vampire hunter modeled after van richten. I don't recall them ever realy going toe to toe with each other. Wasn't Van Richten was somewhat under the radar as far as Strahd was concerned? | | Pathetic Earthlings. | | It seems to point on the direction of Strahd. Not that one from 2nd edition with an aspect similar to the classical vampire which looked like Dracula (sorry Orion72), but the one from the following picture: |

| On the other hand, an Aspect of Lathander or Pelor on the good factions could fit well in this set as a potential Strahd foe. | | Champion of the Molydeus Vindicated Blood War Called Shot: Cornugon (Horned Devil) Icons Called Shot: Tarrasque Vindicated Dungeon of Dread Called Shot: Mind Flayer Against the Giants Called Shot: Uncommon Fire Giant Demonweb Called Shot: Myrlochar Feywild Called Shot: Molydeus "Sé que me acusan de soberbia, y tal vez de misantropía, y tal vez de locura. | My thought is...
Why do the 2 figs have to be foes of each other? Maybe they are simply representatives of 2 Unhallowed foes -- a Vampire (Strahd) and another one...

| In the original module there was a Prince Serguei competing for the attention of the young maiden Strahd fell in love with, but I woudl hardly consider him worthy of a unique miniature.
Rather I go along with the idea of a werewolf (lord?). Vampries and werewolves are historic foes. We know there is a werewolf in the set so it is an easy thing for them to "reveal". I think if it is a werewolf lord, then maybe it should have power over all lycanthropes, not just werewolves, since the werewolf isnt used much (if at all).
How about warband building - all evil, or all (any alignment) lycanthropes are legal in your warband. Maybe they also get +2 attack, +5 damage or a morale boost - though I could see a LE werewolf lord with tyrannical morale (if you run you die!)
A werewolf lord (40-50pts) (please dont make him too expensive or he will never see use) leading a werebear (44) for muscle and some wererat rogues for tiles and backstabbing, throw in a weretiger or two (27pts each) for the hunter / pounce thing as medium hitters and you have a fun theme band.
Put them up against Strahd with some vampire spawn and misc undead and start filming your own 'B' movie.
And PS - we need a vampiress now too.
Then we have to ask for a dwarven were-boar!
