| Although those are very good prices for a complete set of Archfiends (LSD, Drizzt, Orc Champ, a number of Aspects), it is still a lot of denaro.Â
I'm sure those prices will continue to go up over time.Â
Hmm, where can I come up with that kind of stash?Â

| | Wow, those are definitely good prices for a set of Archfiends. But, I agree with Star, they'll probably push somewhere north of $400 at the very end. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| Yeah, $380 for a complete set isn't that much, given the set.
Maybe the prices have hit their plateau and we'll see them start to come back down?

| | I suspect that the value of the sets is taking a breather. As more and more new sets enter the market, only the true collector will still have the desire to buy the older sets at premium pricing. A new player can get most of the minis they want for RPG play from newer releases or make do as we all did early on, with subsitututes. So, assuming the number of hard core collectors to be somewhat finite, then the number of complete sets being sought by collectors is also finite. The subset of the market that looks on these as an investment tend to be more circumspec in their purchase prices, being unwilling to overpay on something they hope to later resell for a profit. Makes no sense to pay top dollar for something that may well be at or near its peak anyway. | | Built the addition for this addiction, now on to the "gaming table" project.... http://www.maxminis.com/hw_list.asp?user=Zenako last updated 29 May 2006 Set Status: in a nutshell = all of all In Process trades 0), (Sig last updated 05/29/06) 300 plus Completed Trades -

| The starting bids weren't too bad but the ending bids were more than a little bit higher.
One ended up at $380 which isn't so bad but the second one ended at $610!! Looking at bids for the second it seems someone doesn't understand the concept of placing your best bid first (or even fourth or fifth). I also find it interesting to see stores bidding on these items. I know they may want to restock and with Archfiends the selling the right few pieces at a slight premium goes a long way to recoup purchasing an entire set.

| | I just sold my Archfiends (auction ended the 12th or so) complete set (all opened) for 310 or 315--and yes, a bunch of stores were bidding on it. | | It's a mutual, joint stock world, in all meridians. --Herman Melville, Moby-Dick | |

| I've had fluctuating luck with ebay prices. For the same set or piece the price can go either high or low depending on if someone really wants that item, they see the listing, etc. Just by waiting a couple of days I've gotten deals or regretted not jumping on an item in an earlier auction.
But that $380 is an awesome price. It's almost what someone would pay if they bought a case of boosters and then the rest of the rares they were missing. | | Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow
