| Lets have some fun. Pick your favorite set by rarity (common, uncommon and rare) from all of the sets that have been released. I'm a RPG'er so my picks would be: Rares: Giants of legend Uncommons: Blood wars Commons: War Drums | | Big Daddy Rob | |

Great Classics: Graycloak Ranger, Cultist of the Dragon, Dread Guard, Gravehound, Cursed Spirit, Gnoll Archer, Daleland Militia (which has no equal), Sage, Duergar Warrior and Warrior Skeleton. All great for RPG. Snig is okay too. I just really remember liking the commons in this set, they were the "basics". I guess memory can be tricky.
Now that I look through, Harbinger and Wardrums have really great commons. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. I've always liked the huge pieces, and big red is the best of them all. I like storm giants too, but I wish this one was nicer. Behir is pretty good, and I don't mind the WF Titan. Inspiring Marshal has been CG's best commander forever, only recently being challenged by Storm Silverhand. Lord Soth is awesome if you like DL. Who can say no to Frost/Fire Giants? And then there's other cool things like the Manticore, Otyugh, and Stone Golem.
Uncommons: Underdark
Here, I'm just going by pure skirmish power, and the Gith Monk and Duergar Champion just rule - they're as good as any rare for building tri's, quad's, even penta's in the case of the latter. Half-Ogre Barbarian was always borderline, and is now serviceable thanks to Storm again. All of these pieces aren't bad looking either. Dark Naga helps old favourites Beholder and Gauth. Dire Bat and Swarm of Spiders don't have skirmish power, but they are very original looking.
Commons: Harbinger
Well, I think there's really no comparison here, and you can see from my have/want list how much I really like these guys. The larger set size alone gives Harbinger an unfair advantage. Let's start with the Human Commoner. People often ask for non-adventurers such as bar-keep, bar-wench, street bum, children, dogs, blacksmith. We were given our first peasant in the Commoner. Man-at-Arms - the most basic fighting unit. Elf Archer - isn't that what elves do? Dwarf Axefighter - ditto. Undead staples in the Zombie and the Skeleton. Two of the nicest orc commons ever in the Spearfighter and the Warrior. These commons are what you will probably find to be the most common pieces in your RPG.
