That's probably enough for this week. Next week I'll be off at the D&D Experience in Arlington, Virginia, but we'll get something lined up so you can spend some time with the common folk, such as this guy here.

hope its a common warrior, maybe dwarf?

It looks like a dwarf with a hammer. While the comment "Spending time with the common folk" means that it's a common - maybe it also means it's a commoner or townsfolk mini? A Dwarven Blacksmith maybe? Please?

That sounds about right to me. It does look like a dwarf with a hammer.

Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

I'm thinking it may be another duegar from the alt-text. And yes, I know that it is unreliable, but I don't care.

Heh if that were a Duergar commander, I'd be partially vindicated. Somehow I doubt we'd see it in this set, on the other hand seeing it in Night Below, that would be a good bet.

Dwarf with Hammer, is what it looks like to me as well.

Hoping its a duergar commander that would be good. I don't mind a dwarf its just I already have quite a collection of dwarves with hammers (5 if memory serves). Still if it where a dwarven blacksmith I would be really happy with that. Heres hoping for the duergar commander though.

Well the image looks like a stumpy, bald, hammer wielding cleric, so duergar cleric sounds good to me.

The hints of bigntall and you and what army?  would seem to contradict that.

With the way this set is going, it is probably some mutant cyborg giant from Eberron that can't be used in any other setting.

Remember, the image name and mouseover text have in the past usually have nothing to do with the actual mini. Sometimes they are jokes on what the silhouette looks like, so they can line up (like the gorgon with the cow jokes), but usually, they do not.

That's what I'm thinking. Sure it is not reliable, but it is potential information for something the other areas of the post are not clear enough to single in on other than the outline looking dwarfish.

After my first post where I was hoping for a Dwarven Blacksmith commoner I did look at the Bigntall reference and think that I might be wrong. I probably was wrong, it could very well be a Duergar - but that's based on the fact that the mini is bald more than the bigntall reference.

I think that we should consider every clue that is available when considering what the teaser for next weeks preview will be. The Bigntall reference may mean something or it may not. There have been many times when the file names had absolutely no correlation with the mini. I think that most of the time the filename is either a private joke from the poster or is completely random. It is at best unreliable.

I'm still going to look at the filenames and use it to make my guess though. I just take those clues with a grain of salt is all.

The base looks small, especially when you compare it to the Blood of Vol Seeker above it. They have the same thickness, but the teaser isnt as wide.

I'd say its a gnome/halfling townsfolk of some sorts.

It could be a commander in a common slot like WoTC did with blood wars, allowing for a drugar commander.

But I agree with the dwalf smith with hammer.

LOL!Â

A Common Duergar Cleric (non commander) would be GREAT!  If he costs in the 8-15 point range and can cast some useful spells (ie Magic Weapon), that would be STUPENDOUS!Â

There's no way to do the svirfneblin from the Drizzt books without doing him by name (I think it was Beldar but I'm not certain). He had a metal pick and hammer for hands. It makes him really unique.

Unless I'm thinking of the wrong character. It's been a while but that's the only svirfneblin that I can think of in the Drizzt books.
