The Strahd minis actually look really good. As Username points out, that white Strahd is excellent. I wish the one in the booster had that color scheme instead.

Why can't they just charge more and paint all the rares that well?

If these are the trophies, then that almost has to mean we shouldn't expect much of anything cooler than these in the set of Unhallowed

Because those are hand painted by professionals. I can't even imagine what a booster would cost if they were all hand painted like that. I know I wouldn't be able to afford it though.

Yep. It would cost a lot.
You can order minis and get Runelord to paint them. I don't think peter lee does 'small' jobs.

Those are fantastic. If I skirmished, I'd definitely aim for 2nd or 3rd if it was only for the trophies.

And if Runelord's unavailable, you can get me to paint them

You could always beg Peter Lee to paint your minis, but I imagine that the bill would be excessive

Thanks, all! Runelord sold his soul for miniature painting speed. I have no clue how he can turn them out so fast. For me it's a bit more of a meditative Zen thing.

Not necessarily. I believe there are restrictions on what figures can be used in promotional cases so Ian is restricted in what he sends me for trophies; there still could be kick-ass figures hiding in Unhallowed. (But, man, Beholder Lich -- what could be cooler? )

Contact Peter Lee and ask him how much he'll charge to paint a mini to that quality for you.

Multiply that number by eight.

That is why.

These figures are brilliant!

Peter, you have undone yourself yet again. Great work as always, man!

That Beholder Lich looks so creepy it gave me goosebumps when I first saw it. That warty skin above the punched out eye looks freaky, man! The white version of Strahd definitely gets the vote for sharp-dressed man. The GBD is one of those things that probably looks a lot better in person than in pictures.
