| Cool. Thanks Darkfather (by way of Hordelings).
Looks like we were right about the Drizzt epic set being Drizzt, Wulfgar and Icingdeath.
A desert themed set would be cool - opportunity to make some more Al Quadim like mini's. Maybe we'll get the dire camel we've all been waiting for. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre | |

| Hmm ...
Interesting title.
I wonder if this will be the next starter set, with desert themed maps and the like.
It would certianly make sense for WotC to release a new starter set during the Christmas season more so than any other time of year. Maybe the new policy is to release starter sets every two years (or 6 sets apart) rather than the 4 we had previously.
We will have to wait and see for more info. I doubt we will have more than the title of this set until Gen Con.
Cheers

Ah, but they are looting from the vault for that title from a famous module series in the 1E days. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia for some of the collectors out there.

| DoD sounds OK as a concept.....
also a plus that the series is continuing for at least another set, so I'm happy that way as well. 180+ new miniatures in 2007 (I guess 184 if you include Gar Blue and Drizzt set)
Not sure what minis will come in a desert set.... maybe UC horse rider dude.... dude on a camel? Half Scorpion Dude? We got Efreets and Genies.... I'm really drawing a blank here.... don't know why.

We had a Huge set in 2006 (WotDQ) so not seeing another one until 2008 was to be expected after the break between GoL and WotDQ.

* Night Below * Return to the Underdark * features many iconic monsters
* Desert of Desolation * named after the classic D&D adventure * DDM Mount riders
So it looks like we'll get more mounted minis.
There are other interesting tidbits (check the link for more info).

| | I like Huge minis, but I agree that releasing them in booster packs doesn't seem to be the best way to go about it. I would prefer Huge Icon packs. I'd like to see them release 1 Huge Icon set a year, with 3-4 Huge figures and 1 Gargantuan (or Colossal) set with 2-4 medium or large figures. That way, you wouldn't have to problems that plagued both the Huge sets so far, and that is paying $20 a pop and getting a Huge that isn't worth that price tag. | | Vindicated Champion of Green Slaad Champion of the Feyr Correct Unhallowed Called Shot - Bone Naga Night Below Called Shot - Skulk | |

| I agree with Brimulk.... Huge sets are a bit of a waste of cash. To get any qty of the regular minis you need to buy way to many of these expensive Huge packs (ie see Stirge) and then end up with way to many UC Huges.... I like the Mountain Trolls but I don't really need 12 of them.
I think an Icon line of Huges would be great.... ie 4 pack of the Huge Elementals or Dragons.
Of course we don't know the full logistics nor economics behind the whole thing except that Wizards wants us to spend more and get repeats so this is against the whole concept. | | Champion of the Aspect of Gruumsh Nemesis of Gnomes and Warforged

| I dislike how distrubution has worked with huges, but I love huge minis, both for skirmish and rpg.
A desert set should have some funky figures. I do like the difference compared to other themes. And it's likely only 8-10 will be 'on theme' anyhow. Hmm desert dwarf with axe should be my called shot :p DDM Mount riders - woohoo. Conan on a camel. I hope we see typical adventurers on horse too.
