So, this week was a double whammy-New Clix and New DnD...I play clix....I roleplay DnD (several games)...so they each have a different quality of love and excitement.

Bought my 3 cases (The norm-I buy 2 and the GF buys a 3rd)

First off, I pulled the best sampling in my history of DnD Minis...Out of 3 cases...pulled all rares except for Van Richten.  The following were my extras figs beyond the full set...

2 Werewolf Lords (one immediatelt traded for Van Richten to complete set)
2 Displacer Beasts (I am fine with this)
2 Blood Golems of Hextor
2 Strahds (one gifted to the guy who picked my cases for me)
Black Dragon
Beholder Lich
Thrall of Blackrazor
Skycaptain archer guy

...and something else...Don't even remember....

In person, most of the figs were excellent.  Some High points:

Vampire Dire Wolf-maybe the best uncommon I have ever pulled...

Large Black Dragon-outstanding Dragon sculpt-please keep this up Wizards....
(Why, oh WHY can't we get a huge proportioned like this...the Huge black is insulting in comparison)

Strahd is a LOT better in person, and got many a compliment (and he does have pure white eyes...)

Otherwise...loved almost every fig, sculpts are excellent as is the paint jobs.  Keep up the good work WoTC, and thanks to Shoe and Lidda!

Yeah... stuff was pretty good. Unlike you however I wasn't overly impressed with the sculpt of the Black Dragon... I guess I'm more into 'the sitting atop something' sculpt or obviously offensive/agressive type positions. As I mentioned in some other thread, I think overall the biggest problem I had was the new box structure and glue.

I'm very impressed this time round with distribution. Lidda and Shoe have been of great value as usual, a boon to the site That said, I still have no vinyl map

My five packs were.

Bone Naga - I loved the gallery picture of the Figure, the actuall minature does not disapoint for me.

Large Black Dragon  - Putting this fella on some raised elvavation would help.  I'm still pretty happy with this mini.

Gorgon - another figure that looked good in the initial preview and does not disapoint in the flesh, er plastic.

Thrall of Blackrazor - Uhg he looks exactly like his picture in the gallery, such an fugly rare unfortunatly.

Werewolf Lord - This guy is Awsome.  Some seams in the mold and frankly a re-paint wouldn't hurt.  Still a awsome figure.

Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

wait, what did he get in his packs?

Yeah, I was not too happy with what I got in my first case. I ddin't get any of the three pieces I really wanted. Oh well, I have a second case coming...

I'm just going to go with just a few more booster packs myself.

My pulls from today were: another Gorgon and Bone Naga, Ogre Executioner, Devourer,  Tsucora Quori and Wizard of Turmish.  That's most of the Rares I want in only 11 boosters, all I've got left to get is the  Beholder Lich.  A pity most of the Rares this set don't apeal to me.
