It is becoming increasingly apparent that WotC has abandoned the idea of Epic Cards for older pieces, in favor of releasing them for newer pieces. I fully understand why they're doing this, but I still want cards for the older minis that should have them. Aspects, Red Wizard, Centaur Hero...I could go on and on.
I am starting this petition to show WotC that we, the consumer, want these older cards and are willing to compromise. I am hereby petitioning WotC to release one online only Epic Card for an older piece per month when they put up the download of the new Epic Card release. Please WotC, throw us older players a bone here.
*Note: The options given in this poll are based on my belief that we will never see another Older epic card in a kit, thus I didn't include kits into the options. If I had, I'm sure everyone that voted yes would've voted for kits. Heck, I would've voted for kits and I can't even get them. | | Eye dun no why youse guys think im not relly a person im jimgang from canada but im moving to cali as soon as i get a master card -Jimgang So, you stand at your grave, Has your soul yet been taken away? I'm in the camp of wanting to see more older figures get the Epic love even though I understand the desire to give cards to new minis. | | | |

| | Well I didn't vote. I'd like WOTC to do the older epics (especially the undone aspects), but I'd like to have official cards, not on-line official data. I know I can print them, but I want them done right. Maybe if there was an option D) Print a dozen or so of them and give them away with proof of purchase thingys from boosters and the cost of shipping. That'd be cool. | | Never teach a pig to sing. | I'm not a fan of DYI.
I would like to see older Epic Cards released... like Champion of Eilistraee, maybe even Ghaele Eladrin. Online only format though is not something I would support. So ahhh, no vote from me. I have actually printed some of the online material available from wizards - a Fane Of Lolth to be exact - it's very, very good, laminated and crease free but the image quality of the originals just isn't there... even though I had it done on Snap's badass plotter thing. | | ScruffyRanger's Promo Page! | Yeah there are obviously older minis that deserve a shot at epicdom or epic redemption depending on how their stats went the first time. It fully looks like the newer sets are getting all the attention now, so maybe an online pdf would be the way to go for the older figs | | Champion of Minsc & Boo

Online only doesnt appeal to me at all but I'd like to see the cards made.
Im afraid I cant vote.

| | @Vrecknidj and Count Dooku: Perhaps my initial statement should've been a little clearer. I am conducting this based on the seemingly valid assumption that we have seen the last of the older cards in kits and will not get anymore older cards in kits ever. I would prefer them in kits as well, even though I would just download them, as I don't have access to kits. I didn't include kits as an option because I don't believe it is a realistic one. | | Eye dun no why youse guys think im not relly a person im jimgang from canada but im moving to cali as soon as i get a master card -Jimgang So, you stand at your grave, Has your soul yet been taken away? | Posted By MackeyJ on 04/01/2007 12:46 PM How many signatures do you think we'd need for WoTC to take this seriously? I'd guess it would have to hit in the 1000's. In some respects I think they will take it as seriously with just one signature as with 1000s, just because of the nature of online communities and comments. Now I think this s an excellent idea, but anything done solely online has to be taken with a big grain of salt. Online groups and those that post to them regularly are more fervant in their fandom than the average person (look at the number of online only "Bring back X show" petitions), but that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing. Just having Wraithborn make the poll and others comment can let them think about the idea if nothing else. But after that, there are other factors that we as the consumers don't have to deal with that probably will allow or prevent this fom happening, more so than the number of signatures.

| | No thanks. The older epics having cards would only serve the purpose of driving up secondary market prices for those older figures even higher, and would likely be unplayable in skirmish due to overcosting. Give me something playable and current so that less collected members of my skirmish market can keep pace with me, and other more aggressive collectors. | | | |

Now this is a good point I never even thought of. Since we have Maddas guide, has anyone ever noticed that epics drive prices up? I wonder if this actually would occur with sets old enough that prices have been static for months.Â

| Posted By Thenameless on 04/01/2007 8:58 PM I'm with Vrecknidj and Count Dooku on this one. I want real epic cards for my older minis. I have been a good customer since the start of DDM, and continue to be a good customer. That latter doesn't mean that they should ignore my request. Instead, Wizards should reward my loyalty.
I knew someone would eventually use this argument.
Last I looked, every single long term customer has been rewarded for their loyalty. Retail kit rewards have existed almost from day one. Loyal, long term customers have received a reward every month since they started. It is amazing that any long term players can possibly complain that their loyalty isn't being rewarded. Saying this means they are ignoring everything they ever received in the past.
If a customer has been buying this product for the last 2 years and has received (or had the potential to receive) a reward kit piece every month during those 2 years, then they have been rewarded in exactly the correct proportion. Loyalty does not "deserve" some additional reward.
Putting older epic cards into retail kits does not reward older players, it screws newer players. There are limited resources for these kits, and if they are being used to reward a small portion of the DDM population (the long term players), then the newer players simply are getting left out.
It is simply untrue that loyalty SHOULD be rewarded beyond the current monthly rewards. And it is simply untrue that loyalty has not been rewarded (long term players have received more freebies than newer players). I continue to be disappointed with all the people who clamor for rewards that provide nothing for newer players, especially given the fact that the main people who are clamoring for these rewards are long time players (people who I expect better of).
