Nice looking. Espically the frosty.

I'm not of fan of increase of 'token' effects on the maps though. Rune carver was enough, but probaly be similar with trap setter.
Next starter set will need extra tokens to cover all the different effects

I won't complain if I get the Jarl (after all, might have some unique abilities, pun intended), but don't really care if don't. The kobold, though, is VERY interesting piece. Maybe it might allow the force of another piece to make an enemy go where you want them to go and run into it or something. Traps are quite an interesting concept to bring into the game. Yay for a reason for me to quadruple check my strategy beforehand and to contstantly survey the map for advantage points!

Pretty nice on both of those. I am interested on what kind of mischief the kobold will make. I do however prefer the weapon in the original artwork for the frost giant:

At least their starting to bulk up the giants now. The Hill Giant Barbarian, the Fire Giant Forgepriest, & now the Frost Giant Jarl are all beefier giants...I like it.

I'm just wondering what the size of Jarl is going to be compared to the Forgepriest. The Forgepriest is big and heavy....is this why they made the new boosters harder to open? Planning for the extremely big & heavy Jarl not bursting open the box?

I always thought they were a little leaner than fire giants, so maybe it'll be a bit taller but thinner than the forgepriest. Who knows.

Since the regular frost giant has an axe, it's good that this one has a nice ice sword.

The frost giant may be slightly too big. I guess he's in scale with the forge priest. Meh.

Another kobold? It's different, it's not a monk, and it could be interesting for skirmishers.

I did a posting sometime ago on how it would be nice for wizards to come out with a set that could be used for rpg and skirmish. The example I used was G1-3. They now have released just about all the main figures for these modules.

It would be cool to get maps made and go through this clasic adventure this time with mini's.

Couple of awesome looking minis.  The translucent plastic on the Jarl looks great, the Trapmaker has a devilish look to him.

The Frost Giant looks great, it was definitely time for another one!
The Trap Setter looks like another good common, adds a new flavor for kobolds & one of their primary roles/characteristics-its like having a Gnomish Bard.

I'm diggin' that Frost Giant Jarl. I have been wanting to see one made for a while now, and I am happy with the sculpt.

Kobold Trapper is alright. I'm not totally thrilled with it for RPG, but it could be fun for skirmish.

Absolutely love the frost giant, hope this will be the forge priest of CE skirmish-wise. He looks great, cool sword, cool armour, and funny face in the loincloth.

kobold is a bit meh, but trapmaking could be an interesting ability for skirmish.

The trapmaker is good for skirmish (potentially), but for RPG it's weird... I don't think you'll have too many circumstances where you'll catch the trapmaker actually making the trap like that... ah well. The Jarl is awesome to get, although from the looks of it I prefer the artwork that username found, it still looks pretty good. Is it just me or is the sword "off center"? The pose is awkward, I guess it's to fit in the box or to show the little man on his loin cloth... still, happy to see the frost giant, if not a little confused (night below?).

All I have to say is "**** YEAH!"

Here it is in full for those with blocked access:

---

July

July: Night Below Booster Packs

So, the Unhallowedexpansion went on sale last month. That means I get to start showing off minis from the next set -- Night Below. Of course, I kinda need the production minis to look at in order to do that up right. But they're off being photographed. So, in order to make sure I get this article turned over in time, the best I can do is pick the two I want to show, and just list 'em here, and let those photos do all the talking. So, there's a kobold in the set, so that's mini number one for me: the oft-asked-for Kobold Trapmaker (a sweet, little Common) And, with nostalgia filling the air, I have to show off the (large, Rare) Frost Giant Jarl -- the big, bad guy (and namesake) from G2 Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl.

Kobold Trapmaker Frost Giant Jarl

I know you'll want to see more minis, so be sure to check out Steve Schubert's Miniatures Previews articles on the D&D Minis page, and flip through Dragon magazine to see their minis content and exclusive coverage.

Since some folks are unaware of this, Jarl is a noble title from Scandinavia (those crafty Vikings), it is the basis for the English world title "Earl," and is pronounced "Yarl."

Really happy to get a new frost giant as the ones from Giants of Legend are getting a bit pricey. The sculpt on both models is good but I like many others prefer the frost giant. I like the ice sword I think that a good use of clear plastic myself. Also hoping that there maybe a more basic uncommon frost giant in the set. Good start so far.
Is it me or is this first preview earlier than expected. I always have trouble remebering when the preview normally start. Is it three or two months before the sets release?

Frost Giant Jarl is great and the Trapmaker is pretty nice too. Though I don't want any more kobolds and goblins... (I wouldn't mind some orcs though)
