| WOW ! Frost giant jarl... Great. I hope there is an uncommon frost in the set, too... Maybe we're getting some of the G1-3 monsters in this set. That would be fantastic !
OTOH I couldn't care less for the kobold (at least RPG-wise, as Greyhaze pointed out). But the jarl is so coooooool. Nice preview.

| This might just be wishful thinking but last time they brought in a giant boss (hill giant cheftain) they gave him an uncommon giant to boss around. Since a Jarl is also a boss what do you think the possibility of an uncommon underling is? | Posted By Sulaco on 04/13/2007 7:32 AM Posted By ronan on 04/12/2007 10:18 PM I did a posting sometime ago on how it would be nice for wizards to come out with a set that could be used for rpg and skirmish. The example I used was G1-3. They now have released just about all the main figures for these modules.
Now all we need is to get get some more uncommon giants to run them properly --- Since some folks are unaware of this, Jarl is a noble title from Scandinavia (those crafty Vikings), it is the basis for the English world title "Earl," and is pronounced "Yarl."

Well, the whole point of more sets coming out, from the perspective of those who have already started collecting for RPG, is to increase the number of minis we don't have to proxy for.

| | I think the kobold is very cool. Anybody who ignores kobolds after the party hits about 3rd level is really missing out. Those guys can be so much fun and an ugly surprise for mid-level characters if you get imaginative with them. That's the nice thing about all the different kobold sculpts - it encourages new ideas. Besides, you need swarms of those guys for a good kobold-based adventure. since I rarely keep more than 4 copies of any miniatures, I don't personally feel like I've been saturated by kobolds. | | "Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." - Albert Einstein Champion of Myopic Half-Orcs Winner, WBC X | |

| Love the Frost Giant - been waiting for a new one for too long (not counting the scout).
I'd also like to say that I love kobolds - including this new trapmaker kobold. I played a kobold for over a year in a D+D game and had a great time. But I don't think that we need to have one or two in almost every set. Also a specialty kobold such as a trapmaker should probably be uncommon. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre

| I am actually very pleased with both minis. Jarl is an excellent addition and not really for it being just Jarl. It is great to simply have another frost giant which can stand in as a leader along with the ones from GoL (I collected 4) and the mammoth rider. An uncommon would be great too. The kobold is kind of interesting. I like the different type of sculpt and the concept which makes it quite different. Plus, kobolds are very easy to store!!!! 20 of them don't even take up the space that one Jarl will fill! | | Give me more MIND FLAYERS! | |

| It is a rare , and the kobold is common for sure. Just take a look at the text:
So, there's a kobold in the set, so that's mini number one for me: the oft-asked-for Kobold Trapmaker (a sweet, little Common) And, with nostalgia filling the air, I have to show off the (large, Rare) Frost Giant Jarl -- the big, bad guy (and namesake) from G2 Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl. | | Champion of the Molydeus Vindicated Blood War Called Shot: Cornugon (Horned Devil) Icons Called Shot: Tarrasque Vindicated Dungeon of Dread Called Shot: Mind Flayer Against the Giants Called Shot: Uncommon Fire Giant Demonweb Called Shot: Myrlochar Feywild Called Shot: Molydeus "Sé que me acusan de soberbia, y tal vez de misantropía, y tal vez de locura. | I believe a Frost Giant Jarl is a CR 17 Frost Giant with 8 levels of blackguard.
And for referance:
A Hill Giant leader is called a Chieftain A Frost Giant leader is called a Jarl A Fire Giant leader is called a King
But whats a Storm Giant leader called?
