| Posted By CoyoteNomad on 06/01/2007 5:55 PM Out of curiosity, why does Trample 20 do 15 damage? Well, as everyone knows, unicorns are kind creatures. So, the trample is a kinder, softer trample.

| I agre iluvxtina, and althoug i am playing with any alignment in Epic skirmish, almost always use CG warbands.
However, i guess that i am so tired with stupid EPIC like archmage, Wizard of turmish and maybe this Virtuos Charger.
We are waiting for Epic Ryld, Epic Mina, Epic Alusayr, Epic Regdar, Epic Aspect of Bane, Epic Half Elf Bow Initiated, Epic Death Knight, Epic Frenzied Berzerker....
We need the ancient minis with new stats!!!

| LAst night I playtested with Ryoga the new epic , two comments: The trample MUST be 15 dmg, or they would be to powerful the spells are a waiste. Play the while invisible and you will se the results.
2 of the them are a beast.

| Interesting that an additional 5 trample damage could be so effective. I agree, I think with flying these guys can be what they are in 200: excellent, durable frst strike units. | | Official Delegate, Wizards of the Coast Icons Called Shot: Gargantuan Prismatic Dragon "Rejoice, for bad things are about to happen." | |

Im near sure, 20 trample is soo huge!!! And Teflon is right, 5 adicional trampla damages change all the unit. This cavaldry is one of the best epic stats that I test... Amaizing...
We will inform if more tests.

| Posted By Vrecknidj on 05/31/2007 7:18 AM People complain about quite a few epic cards that get posted. Now, admittedly, some of them stink (i.e. Lord of Blades). But, this brings me to some questions.
1) How many epic games do you actually play? 2) If there were more really good epic figures, would you play more epic games?
Here are my answers (time to be honest).
1) I haven't played many since GenCon last year, I think. I judged one tournament of 15 players, so I did some testing to help some of the locals beforehand. 2) Probably not.
Dave 1) Until fairly recently, every third/fouth gaming night. More when WoDQ was new though. 2) Yes. In times past, when we got a new epic, it meant for different band and then counter bands.

Well thats hopeful then. Though I dont see it. I should test it before opening my mouth further. But its not like skirmish attack goes with charge, and just dont see 15/5 (or 20/10) damage to one medium creature being that great in Epic.

| The game went on like this: My band 2x VC (epic) Silverhand VNC Gnome trickster grayCloack ranger 2x Timberwolf
Ryogas Band: 2x Phomorian 1 Epic Thrall 3x Orc Wizard (the one with battering ram spell) Tiefling Cap Wardrummer
The battle was simple, I won map, it was frost fell rift.
I turned everything invisible, and starting trample (ing) every unit I had ranged on (moved 24), by the fourth round, and with a little help from the VNC thral was dead, I did not had a change to get the Tiefling Cap or the durmmer, they were pretty far away, then I used both VC to kill a fomorian in like one or maybe two rounds, and used the two timber wolfs to cut the path for the other fomorin, any way, it was fairly simple, two VCs kill with no effort almost any unit.
I imagine a tordek being trample twice every turn... same to any invisible archmage, since conceal does not apply. As you can see, the VC is not only a formidable hitter, but with fly he can inflict some serious damage to tech units, then once against hit the main hitter. In order to be used effectively he has to move and give AoO, why not use him to inflict some damage to a tech 6 squares away?
Please believe me when we say, that this unit is by far the best epic I have tested, and I have tested a lot of epics.

| | Interesting, but I'd imagine it would have a very bad matchup against anything big with blindsight, since it'll then have to to take AoO's when trampling and it can't afford a lot of those. | | Call me: W.N. Gobo! originally posted by grim: While he is clearly insane, he does have a point. | |

| No, they both have flight, via Storm Silverhand. So no AoO.
well against huge and large creatures the trample will not work, but they can deliver enough damage to kill him. I havent tested them against bahamut, but I imagine that he would be no problem.

They don't have mounted melee attack, so they would get AoO from something with Blindsight. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | Hmm this might soon end up in skirmish.
You can only trample one thing, though thast at a time, not per turn. Interesting anyhow. Will have to give it a go.

Only when 'taking off'. Mounted melee attack doesnt matter in regards to trample, as trample isnt an attack.
