I think the only place I've ever encountered one was in Icewind Dale I (or was it II?).

I haven't done an ehaustive search, but I don't think it has come out in 3rd ed. I remember them in 1st and 2nd, but I don't recall ever seeing them in a recent MM.

Completed trades: blackthorne, Drakkengi,Thorgrin, Ironfist Boulderbender x2, ckissee, nasamonkey, Username, Star, Ace13 x3, emontedodger x2, Drconveyor, church, Joeyb, Sir Bozak The Damned, Xeromod, the other guy x2, Qucalion of Celene, Dagaron x2, berus316, qillan_dvra, AshloreDarkShadow

Well, there are still tons of "official" 2nd edition (and older) monsters that haven't been updated. I've recently been replaying Baldur's Gate, and in that game along I've come across half-ogres, orgillions, dread wolves, xvarts (these might have been updated somewhere), and more. I'm not even sure 3rd edition has an honest-to-goodness cyclops yet.

They're a type of giant. Came out in the original MM II I believe.

I agree completely.  Firbolgs are one of my favourite giants (and I'm a man who sure likes those giants).  They were in MM3 in 3E weren't they?

I'd rather see the Verbeeg myself, as I'd use it more, but we need a Firbolg too...and a Voadkyn while they're at it.

 I'm not even sure 3rd edition has an honest-to-goodness cyclops yet.

And that is a crying shame. A fantasy staple that badly needs done.

Verbeeg = variant hill giant
Firbolg = Aspect of Kord.

There are a great number of minis I'd much rather see produced prior to either of those.

I wouldn't mind a firbolg, but then you'd need two figs for it because it has an ability like a duegar to change size if I remember correctly.

Didn't we have a metal Cyclops mini put out prior to 3.0?

Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

I prefer getting a cyclops over a verbeeg or firbolg. I'd rather have a firbolg than a verbeeg, though.

It's medium-sized and in an awkward position.

And, much like the other Silver Anniversary minis, not terribly well sculpted.

I really should finish painting mine one of these days

The cyclops would be a better choice overall, since we do have stats for him and is more iconic, no pun intended. It would definitely need a better pose than the pic, as I said before.
