| A nice preview to start with. It feels a bit strange to be writing that, as they are just resculpts of minis that I already have (essentially). However, the Umber Hulk was much needed for many players, and I'm happy to have another one with a different sculpt. I can't really argue that another drow of any description is "much needed" - the number of drow produced is ridiculously out of proportion to their actual appearance in adventures (taken as a whole). Even so, I quite like the look of this one.
I always seem to be more enthused by the monthly previews than the weekly ones. They tend to show the minis with the broadest appeal. | | Champion of the Bodak.Knight of the Aboleth.Squire of Gnomes. Quite true. Since drow are so popular to make over and over, I have set aside one of my storage containers for drow and duergar. I have another one for elves and another for dwarves, for example. Drow are so abundant that I have needed space just for them.

At a guess: Rare - Umber Hulk Delver Uncommon - Drow Spider Priestess The Harbinger Umber Hulk has the same hump on its back as the Desert of Desolation Umber Hulk (Delver), either proportionally or height-wise. The Harbinger Umber Hulk is taller, either proportionally or height-wise, because of its raised claw. "EOL" is probably "End of Line", meaning "text ends here". The alternative is too terrible to contemplate.
and
One uncommon. I bet it's the drow priestess. Not the Delver. Umber Hulk's true name is Umber Hulk Delver, I guess. HarbUH hump same, claw higher. This refers to the size, and the implication is that Harb UH is pretty much the same size as the new one. EOL EOL could stand for "Eye of Lolth," which is a drow PrC from Drow of the Underdark (rogue/cleric secret police type of character). It may be our second drow in the set (leftovers from Night Below, anyone?) | | Originally posted by Schooly_D Username - he deals in minis Champion of Lhesh Haruuc Shaarat'kor

I'm not sure. The reason why I think it's a sculpt issue is that everyone I've talked to who works with the minis line very much gave me the impression that they wouldn't miss a detail like this if they could swing it. It's just too obvious a detail to miss unless there was a problem making something like that.

The D&D books in the preview look rather nice too, as does the Legend of Drizzt scenario pack...

| About time about the Umber Hulk. Don´t care about the Drow, she´s OK but she needs good skirmish stats to be liked by me. I bet she won´t be commander 5 like the old one but better costed after all.
I have the Harbinger Cleric olf Lolth but no Harbinger Umber Hulk. If I had both of them these resculpts stll wouldn´t bug me (he, "bug" me) because I still like the old sculpts. | | German championship 12.05.07 in Berlin --------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to play DDM in Berlin, Germany? http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/dndminisberlin/

| Posted By GuJiaXian on 08/03/2007 10:05 AM They likely won't do anything Dark Sun-related, as there's never been an official WotC 3.X conversion (I don't think the Dungeon/Dragon conversion from a couple of years ago counts). It seems like DDM only reflects current products, which is why Eberron sees so much action, and Planescape/Dragonlance/Dark Sun/insert-2nd-edition-setting-here doesn't. Except Halflings. They went from the cherubic, inocent-looking creatures that you would actually overlook in the racial description to the little, feral, nasty buggers that you would NEVER turn your back on from Dark Sun.

| Hello,
It will be interesting to see what either of the pieces brings t o the table for skirmish. I know that I will be looking forward to the Umber Hulk at the very least. I do have one from Harbinger, but a pair would be nice for some RPG encounters. Also, a newly revised confusion effect for the mini for skirmish would be interesting.
Cheers
