OK folks, this is the last thread I will be starting on this topic... The Thread for XP is sure to pop up soon though! :-)
SO:
Please remember to bring 2 legal boosters, and a prize to the event.
Boosters will not be for sale in the Sagamore Ball room, though you're
likely to be able to buy them on site in the exhibit hall. Location: I'm not sure if this event has been hit by the
misprinted location issue on your tickets. The Event is in the SAGAMORE
BALLROOM, same location as all the other DDM event. Start Time: I cannot stress this one enough. PLEASE come
early if you can. The official ticketed start time is 8:00. We expect
MORE than 80 participants. The more people we get registered, and moved
out of line before 8:00, the sooner we can get the event started. I
plan to be on site/on hand at 7:00 pm to start getting the area
organized, and to begin registered participants. Length/End Time: If we can get ourselves organized quickly
enough, we will try to complete 4 45 minute rounds. We have no set end
time, but if registration and rounds seem to have dragged, we may pull
the plug after 3 rounds. We don't want to keep everyone up until 3:00
am (though your free to do so!) Tickets: 72 of 80 tickets were presold. By my estimates at
least 20 people have since expressed interest in attending the event. 8
tickets will be available at Gen Con. If you want to be guaranteed a
spot in the event, try to buy those tickets up (you can buy them
starting Wednesday on site). If you decide that you don't want to
participate, ask around the Mini's hall. There may be people who will
be interested in buying your ticket from you. Otherwise, sell it back
to Gen Con for a full refund, that way, others who want to buy a ticket
will still have a chance.
Generic Tickets: Lord Raven has printed 110 maps for our
event. That means that we can take generic tickets for an additional 30
participants. If you can't get a real ticket, or want to make a last
second decision to play, bring 6 generic tickets. We will accept as
many additional players as we can. Maps: My thanks again to Robbdaman, and Jayne_Cobb for
designing our maps. We will have 55 of each map. Rob's Map will be used
in game 1 and 3, and Jayne_Cobb's map will be used in games 2 and 4. DO
NOT MOVE THE MAPS! At the end of the event, when people line up for
prizes, you will get to choose 1 map, plus a prize. One map may be more
popular than the other. If your in the top 1/2 of players, you'll be
guaranteed the map you want. More incentive to play well!
Map Clarification: The Mechanus map uses the world "Flung". Flung shall be equal to "Push". All of the Cog spaces are difficult terrain. Any last minute questions? I leave on Wednesday, so I'll do my best to respond between now and then.
See you soon!
