| | I saw a thread like this on the Wizards boards a couple of years ago, and I liked it, so I thought I would give it a go. Basically, I have 3 boosters (24 minis) which my wife has put away, and I'll get one a day in December, like a regular advent calender. I know it should be 25 minis, but 24 works well. Tune in tomorrow to see the first mini revealed. | | | |

| Funnily enough I am doing the same thing after I read a thread about a guy doing it on the EN World boards! Even though I blatantly stole it I think it is a great idea. It was also hilarious hearing my wife describe some of the minis. She likened the new swarms to biscuits! :) Yes, she has absolutely no interest in minis but I managed to rope her in to doing this at least. My advent calendar only has 24 pockets so 3 boosters work out perfectly. Actually, a lot of advent calendars don't have a pocket for Christmas day as that's when you get to open all your other presents.
I'll start my own thread for my calendar turt so I don't steal your thunder. Olaf the Stout | | My Trade Thread 12 Trades Completed - Bert the Troll, Keoki, elf_ranger, kalle, Dropbear, twilightraven, SkYlyn3, Monolthicus (x2), qillan_dvra, xuthal, MMT 2007 My Reference Thread

| | My wife and I did something like this the first December we were collecting. That was when I had still only opened a small number of boosters overall, so each booster was a major rush. This was a blast. I don't remember if there was a connection with advent calendar. We were stretching out a booster so I didn't go to the store every day to buy a new one. Now that I have opened about 2.5 to 3 cases per set for a couple of years, it wouldn't be the same, but it would still be fun. Thanks for sharing and have a blast with it. | | "Look to God and live." | Day 4: Another Uncommon! Does this mean the next four will be commons? Visejaw Crocodile. I don't think I've got one yet, so that's cool.
Thank you to everyone who's given me words of encouragement. What will tomorrow bring?

| Day 11: Another Uncommon - Yuan-Ti Malison. I've already got one, but another one probably wouldn't hurt.
I can't comment on how the boosters were opened. I just passed them over and said here go for it. I'm guessing that my wife just put the cards straight in. I haven't got the minis in the calendar, just the cards. Would've taken her too long to sort through them.

Day 14 - Another common - Militia Archer. Don't need anymore, but that's probably the case for most of the commons.

| | In hindsight, it probably would've been best to open all three boosters and do the 12 commons first, then the 9 uncommons, and finish it up with the three rares. Woulda built suspense more. | |
