Warriors & Monsters

From best to worst.

Chimera:- "This is a superb figure that deserves cost-effective stats"
Iron Golem:- "One of the few balenced constructs, since you get the liability of requires commander, along with the most awesome cost-effectiveness in the game" And I do mean the best, this creature will outfight it's points cost in anything if you can keep it's commander alive.
Centaur Hero:-  "Bleh, there's better heros than this"
Helmed Horror:-  "Imunity everything" Borring, Borring,Borring. I'd be happier if every HH mini in the the world (including the 4 I own, end up as land fill)

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

Chimera - "HUZZAH"!

Iron Golem - "HUZZAH"!

Helmed Horror - ... I think skirmishers will tend to be disappointed with the recosting of minis they already found effective skirmish units...

Centaur Hero - "REALLY - of all those choices"? Guess I'm glad I have two of them...

Centaur Hero: I really love it.

Helmed Horror: Another mini I like, and I've 3 of them.

Iron Golem: More love.

Chimera: Not the best choice for me; I don't like the sculpt.

Centaur Hero: So many choices and only one vote. ):

Helmed Horror: I like them, so not unhappy.
Iron Golem: Two constructs for maurading monsters...
Chimera: Surprised this one made it. Must be heavy on RPG votes.

Wanted to see another mind flayer in though

Very happy with the Iron Golem making it through. I'm a metallurgical engineer for a reason. Glad that the Chimera is going through as well. It's a classic monster that will look nice on the table if it gets some decent skirmish stats.

I don't understand this thread. Since we have already been told that the current DDM stats will be changed completely in 2E, why does anyone care what the current stats are when evaluating what minis got selected? The only thing really worth evaluating is the sculpt of the piece, because it is the only "stat" that will not change.

Iron Golem and Helmed Horror are beautiful sculpts (the reason I voted for them). Chimera is an okay sculpt, but I am just not that fond of the ascetic value of a three headed monster. The Centaur Hero is the weakest sculpt of the four in my opionion.

I am pleased with all the results except the Centaur Hero. That said, if they give us good stats for the Centaur Hero, I may be pleased.

Please, please, please don't screw up the Helmed Horror, it's probably my favorite skirmish piece.

I do not trust WotC and I do not think they will release a set with all these incredibly rares. But if i,m wrong and they release it,it will be the greatest hit in all D&D skirmish history.and the helmet horror is one of the best pieces in this game (and probably the best in LE)

None of these minis are for a new set or an all star set.

Originaly they were to be the 60 old minis that would be converted to the new DDM 2.0 rules when they are released. Now that it's been announced that all the minis will be converted eventually these will just be the first ones done. The new stats will be put on the website for download.

Perhaps if there's enough demand they will release updated cards for these minis but it was never in the plans to reprint the actual miniatures themselves. Or at least as far as I've ever heard.

There will be at least one WoTC printed set of cards - being given away as a promo for XP con.

It would be amazing imo if WoTC made all the all stars good without any with dud stats.

I don't believe he reads anything posted after he does in a thread, cause he repeatedly posts his belief about these getting remade in an all-star set and folks repeatedly correct him to no avail

I love the Helmed Horror regardless and Chimera is cool though I didn't vote on it.  Still retaining hope the Cursed Spirit gets in somewhere.  I love that piece and regardless of the stats the 2.0 incarnation has, my original skirmishing campaign started with one and I want to play 2.0 harkening back with my beloved Cursed Spirits

Voted for Chimaera but Golem is cool too. Meh for Centaur and horror. I wonder for the centaur, everyone here seemed to vote PDK or Thayan, which would both have been excellent choises.

The only thing really worth evaluating is the sculpt of the piece, because it is the only "stat" that will not change.

While in principle your correct that most of the ddm-1 stats are irrelevant. The catch is the word "most". eg;
Spellcasters will remain spellcasters.
And Constructs will still have a (too long) long, list of immunities. Even if it's not exactly the same list as in ddm-1.
In the ddm-1 metagame constructs like the HH, made warbands using stun, fear, paralyse, sneak attack, etc, etc, etc. At best Tier-2. So having one playable construct figure, down-graded a long list of otherwise fun & playable creatures to virtually useless.

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

Be careful with any assumptions you make.  There is already a 4E playtest report where someone crits on an undead.  It is very possible that the long list of immunities that constructs used to have may shrink considerably.

The big weakness of constructs should have been "requires commander". Now, many of them don't need one - especially those in tier 1.

I am really interested in which minis are in the all-star set. I know they are going to restat all the minis, but I bet they won't put the same effort into the others that they do in the all-star set. They'll probably pick some of the best monsters that don't make the cut, spend some time on the them, and throw something together for all the rest. Wouldn't be suprised if they give that job to some junior developer, with a supervisor giving it all a quick once over to make sure nothing is broken. I am voting on minis that---are rare---have a cool sculpt---I own multiples of---or currently have, or should have cool abilities.

I certainly hope your correct, and constructs like the HH, will not be immune to over half the attack abilities in the game.
Call me a pesimist; but I don't think it's safe to assume that will be true, 2 months before we see the new rulebook.
