Hey folks:

I need a quick sense from the community at large.

KTatroe of Hordelings has offered to donate up to 100 maps (that is PLENTY) from his 2007 fundraiser as one of the 2 maps to be used at the Community Draft at D&D XP in 2008.

If we (the Community Draft Organizers) take him up on this, we will still have a map contest, but we would only vote on ONE map, though for your $10.00 entry fee, you will go home with TWO Maps, the 2007 Hordelings fundraiser map, and the map contest map.

The Alternative, is to vote for 2 maps, but like at Gen Con, you will only leave with a single map....

We need to make a decision on this format change quickly, as I need to get the Map Contest started by the end of the weekend.

Thanks for your feedback!

Pat E

p.s.  to be clear, the money for the event goes to the Convetion organizers (WotC and Consupport), and to the cost of printing maps.  While Hordelings is donating maps, the intent is not for the registration fee to be given in whole or in part to Hordelings.

I think it's very generous of Hordelings to offer to donate maps. If other fansites would like to donate things to the Community Draft -- maps, printing costs, and prizes come to mind immediately -- I think that would be great. The more support the better. In the case of maps, having some donated means less work and expense for printing. Pat has had to pay for maps out of pocket in the past, so in my mind, donations like this are an example of true community effort. Plus, each player will walk home with two maps, instead of one. Sounds like a win/win to me.

I think it's a great idea. The Temple of the Unseeing is a pretty sweet map, and I would love to play on it.

All the way with the two!!  As has been mentioned two are certainly better than one!!!  This is very greatly appreciated as well.

Has anyone argued against this idea yet? It seems a no-brainer.
